** KM/h gauge face ** who is interested??

Anyone interested in KM/h gauge face please post here!!
Please include what model of Celica and color combination..
First production probably will be GTS Manual with black background and white font....
Second production will be GT manual/auto with undesided color combination

I need to know the demand before if I decide to plan out for the future production of KM/h gauge face

Design would be pretty close to OEM style or maybe I change it different style......

It wouldn't light up past the stock speed, since the stock gauges have the sportshift indicator LEDs in that spot.

Thanks Blue, but there has to be a way around that right? I was thinking of buying all aftermarket gauges just to have a higher mph reading. Don't really want to go that way though.

If you can find the wires that activate the sportshift gear indicators and apply power to them, you might be able to get those LEDs to light up. Not sure if the light pattern would be wide enough to light up the numbers and marks, though, since they're made to only light up little dots. Might need to do some cutting here and there to make the light shine wider:

99% of them don't make them since we can't even go 160mph....
I don't know how many people out there would actually want 200mph.....
If you really want and willing to pay high price.. I can custom make just one for you...
BUT you gotta find a way to light up that area.... wouldn't be too hard if you can re wire some LED to that area and light it up.....
Making the gauge face isn't hard.... just gotta pay the high price for the very little demand... since I have to make them in high volume at at a time.... or else it'll be very expensive to produce one or just few....

There is... some ingenuity... plus electrical engineering knowledge... and might pay some $$$ to that person that would do it....

Just by looking at it... you need to cut out those area for light to disburst.... and maybe 2-3 LED to light up that area.... since those light pipe/reflector doesn't work well in that area....

Theres NO km/h aftermarket for us, and if there is theyre fugly.

I would like a black background and white lettering so would could use any LED colour we like :)

Oh and wit the RPM have it from redline till 9K in red still.

Thanks Dooly, just let me know how much you want and I'll send you the money. I appreciate that very much. There is a reason I want it besides it just looking cool....I have the power to reach my 200 mph goal now and c2gas is going to make a tranny for me with a little longer final drive. He thinks I'll be able to hit the 200 mark.

I'm shooting for about 500 whp now. Of course that much power and driving 200 mph is completely useless. I'm just doing it for the bragging rights and an adrenaline rush every now and then.

I wouldn't mind white face with red lettering. No mph. GT version. www.speedhut.com has something similar but I didn't like how the air bag light, ebrake light etc were just little square cut outs. Will the gauges have the proper shapes for these lights and the others instead???? Having it say Celica and TRD would be sweet as well.

Also if there was some way you could shape it or color it so the signal lights and the temp and gas gauge area stayed black that would be hella sweet.

I'll keep that in mind about TRD logo and Celica.... I like the logo on the TRD platinum gauge face... let's see how people likes them....

I know what you mean.... you can go with ANY color combination with white lettering... that is one reason that I'm gona make that first production.... everyone will be able to atleast get what they want it to look like in dark.... atleast daytime it will be just white....

Speedhut.com stuff isn't good quality.... for the Celica that is... I don't know about other stuff....
I didn't like how they did the indicators too....
One thing that I can't do is make different option for design.... since I have to make them in large quantity at a time... or else prices would be out the roof...
I'm gona try to make different style but that is decided on how well the demand is....
I'm thinking the price ranger around $40-$70....
If I go with single layer like RJ, it will be cheaper but chance that pigment might come off... which did for me.... most of them I had which I sold it with the LED that I've sold.. did have some bubbles and centain area comming off a little....
I have another option to make it 2 layer laminated together.... this would be best quality, but more expensive....
You'll have no problem with any pigment comming off....

Now would u be able to make sure that the gauges have a proper cut like the rj gaugues do around the symbols(such as the CEL) instead of that ugly square box to allow the light to pass through?

You'll have a problem by the indicator lights on the tach and speedo. The light from the numbers and lines is blocked out over there.

I need to get one more estimate from one company then... I can get it in production very soon... once I give them the template....
After the estimate,,, I'll start working on template and we can all go through with the designs and evaluation them... and change them as needed.......

It's very tidious work to trace out the template... if you want to do it right....

OR you can find someone near you who can install it for you....

Actually i have not yet topped my car out on the tach and i have reached 155mph so i think it is possible for us to go over 160. no top speed limiter :)

I'm not sure if I wanna go 160+mph on a Celica... since I don't know how well the aerodynamics in the Celica is designed....
Oh well.. only few people out there will try....

I've recently move to a new house... so it's been a mess to put new flooring and painting the walls to different color etc..
Alot of stuff to do... and my room isn't organized...
So I've been really busy with other stuff..

BUT, template is almost complete....
Once it's done, I'll have the sample picture of the gauges.... and some different style gauges.....
I'll have another update really soon.....
My computer has been running slow lately... taking long time to edit them in illustrator... :wtc:
Hopefully I can built new FAST computer soon too...

whoops forgot i asked u a question on here ;) I have 2 versions a straight scan of the gauge face which is 55mbs ;) psd file or one that i rendered edited to make a gauge face, i was planning on making km/h gauges years ago never got around to it, its about 9mbs that file ill try sending both if u want ;) u prolly only need the finished one

It would be the best if you have the traced out vector image... cause company that will use that to make the gauges....
