My shift nob is a bit loose and rotates easily. If I tighten it just by turning it clockwise, then it tightens down facing the wrong direction. How do I tighten it and make sure that it faces front? Thanks!

Just keep turning until it faces the right direction. I had the same problem when I first got my car too.
You do have a stock knob right?

If I tighten it down all the way, the "front" of the shift nob faces to the right. I can't rotate it anymore to get it facing front tightly, and otherwise it faces front, but rotates easily. Am I missing something? Is there any way to tighten the nob without rotating it? Yeah it is a stock nob.

put a Little piece of newspaper or something inside the knob...itll be harder to twist on, but itll stay put to where you finally twist it...

point it to the front and then rotate it off remember the direction it was facing when it came off. take it off turn it 180 from the direction it was facing when u took it off and put it back on should face the front. put a little muscle in it.

Thanks. I found that a good crank on it got it tightened where I want it. And I don't think it will ever come off!
