point of debadging

What is the point of debadging your car?? is it suppose to look good....i just don't get it, someone tell me WHY??

Well it depends.. If you have a GTS.. I wouldn't debadge it, unless you wanted to trick people or whatever. If you have a GT, I think it looks better without it. I actually don't know why I debadged my celica.. probably just because I felt like it. I like it when people come up to you.. wondering what the hell type of car you got.. LoL.. that's the best.

Debadging leaves with you with a 'clean' back end. IMHO it really looks sharp. Easier waxing is just a bonus, although I still have to be careful around the fill-in.

Aside from being offensive and ignorant that statement also made no sense. Nothing being removed will hide the fact you drive a Celica. :rolleyes:

Well said Oldster. All you would be taking off is the Toyota and GT/GT-S emblems. It still says Celica above the license plate :rolleyes:

my "GT" got jacked, so i just went ahead and removed everything.... it doesnt take long to figure out what the car is.. GTS rims= gts..... windshield wiper=gts, disc in back=gts.... no point in hiding...... i drive an auto gt... and im proud of it..:rolleyes:

I never notice any difference with the windshield wiper of a GT-S and a GT... what's the diff??

the only badge ive kept on is the GTS one on the rear right end. Reasoning for removing the others: they looked cheap, especially the Toyota badge. As far as removing or adding badges: ITS NOT A MOD, it's just personal taste in what is written on your car.

I took my badges off because someone tried to take the GTS off and ended up just take the S of the GTS, and left a nice scratch...so i just took both the toyota and the rest of the GTS off. stupid people. I live right by a high school..so im guessing it was one of the kids that felt like mangling my GTS emblem for the hell of it. But i wanted to take it off in the first place exactly because that i thought someone might wanan try to steal it, so why not just take them off first so you can atleast have the badges...

i just used some fishing line. Used it to "cut" the glue under the emblem then rubbed the rest off with my finger. Took about 3 minutes

My car is debaged cause some moron ripped off my GT off of my GT-S emblem. So I was stuck with an S. I only have my TRD emblem on now :)

I am with you on this one. I have a GT and those badges just looked cheap. If I were to have a GT-S I'd leave the model tag, but the Toyota badge would have to go anyway.

i was also sick of people asking me...id get different responses.


Now if some ricer comes up and asks me to race and i dont feel like it i go "its just a GT Automatic (i have tinted windows)

if someone who doesnt annoy me comes up i tell them the truth.

plus, it makes me the target of less vandalism.

people see the GTS, get jelous and mess it up, steal the emblem etc.

I'm quite proud of my GT. I have taken the GT emblem off, and put it on the side of my car. Sort of like the gt on the mustang. I had to snatch one off another car to put it on the other side. It looks nice. Its different and I consider it a mini mod, hehe.
I'm quite against debadging, it all leades to ppl putting on GTR, SIR, SI emblems.

My GT came with a rear wiper... I think it's the "all-weather" package deal from toyota.

Which is why I did it to my GTS. - It's cleaner looking, and the GT boyz wanna play more often. (More appropriately - bone stock Civics think it's a GT.)

there is no diff between the gt-s and gt when talking about the back winshield wiper. they both have one ....i removed my toyota emblem, my GT emblem,molded my celica off the back, took off the back wiper, and rear spoiler. it looks better when the car is on its nutz. the back is just a smooth clean cut look when there is nothing showing. its not to look like a gt-s, its not to hide from being a gt, its not to make people wonder what it kind of car it is, it is just the fact that some people like a clean back and when a celica is lowered and has the clean back it just looks incredible!!!
