window got clear coated!!

well i recently got my car repainted and it seems that my windows have been painted over with clear coat. because it's dirty and i can't seem to scratch it off or wash it off.. what can u use to remove it?

Take it back to the body shop and have them replace ur window for free, they should've covered ur window when they painted it

Um, wow, take it back to whoever painted it. Surely they really didn't clear over your windows. If they really did then I would have to be questioning the quality of the rest of the job they did for you. Do you have any pics??

Just take a strait edge razor blade and some windex and scrape the overspray off ,then take some 4000 steel wool with the windex and wipe the rest off . it wont do any thing to the glass . It's really not that big of a deal ,sounds like someone just did not know how to tape ....

use paint thinner it works cuz they did da samething to my car

Acetone might work.

it wont get on your car, if anything, it will drip down under your hood, thats why you should have a cloth handy.

get thinner, a wax rag (i think there terrycloth or w/e), regular rag, razor, steel wool, and glass cleaner.

1. spray glass cleaner
2. use razor and take off majority (becareful of edges / moldings)
3. wipe it off (i sprayed more glass cleaner before i wiped it off)
4. use steel wool and take off remaining
5. use glass cleaner and ..well uhh..clean..the glass..
6. use the wax rag to take off w/e dust is left

..thats what i do, works perfectly..
