Hey, im trying to find out some info on these. I don't want to spend more than $600 on my setup right now so please, no saying get teins/JIC/ZEAL/whatever else is out there.

If you want the above setup, do yourself a favor and get an eibach pro kit and KYB gr-2 struts... its the same thing, except without the TRD name on it... and hundreds cheaper.
For a little more of a drop, try the tein s-tech springs, I have these paired with GR-2s and love the ride, drop, and handling.
Hope this helps.

Do you think the GR-2s are going to be able to handle the drop from tein s-tech for a long period of time?

this is a question i have had too. i guess another way to ask it is how much of a drop can the stock struts take and still last a decent amount of time (i know that they will not last as long as no drop).

Yes and yes. Stock can handle down to 1.5" like any other Celica strut. As long as you don't go slamming through potholes and speed bumps all the time, you'll be fine.

another question. is it normal for the sturt to make noise when going over speed bumps or is that a sign of wear?

screw the trd struts/springs arvin, just but a set of kyb agx and some tein stechs...you'll stay under your 600 budget and you'll have a much better setup.
