Does anybody know what the note at the end of this TSB means? It says "Not applicable to warranty" [http://www.radphys.com/TSB_2001_6spd_GTS_Gear_difficulty.pdf]. Does that mean that Toyota will not perform this service under warranty? I have noticed a problem shifting into 2nd gear when shifting at high rpm's; sometimes it is very difficult to get the shifter to go in the gate.
I want to know if this is something Toyota should take care of under warranty, or they will only perform this TSB if I pay for it.
They have already done the tensioner TSB on my car, and they didn't give me any problems for that one...
Thanks in advance,
R

yes this means that they will not do it... its a modified shifter and WILL not replace it under any kind of warranty... with that said... this same modified shifter was put in my car after my mis shift to prevent me from doing the same thing... so if you have a blown engine then you can probably make a case for it. other than that its a far cry.

What it means is that they changed the tranny guts in production - They will warranty this stuff at their discretion in the case of a mis-shift. Kind of ironic that you have to actually mis-shift to get them to fix what causes the mis shift though.
