View Full Version : Which tuning paramater gives bigest gains?

I was thinking of getting a Camcon unit for my 2003 GT-S with i/e, but I am worried that it can not control ignition timing at all. My other option would be an EManage, but that one can't control VVT-i.

My question is, how do the following paramaters rank terms of gains acheivable, and which piggyback (can't use PFC due to drive by wire) would be best suited to N/A tuning?

1. Air/Fuel tuning
2. Ignition timing tuning
3. VVT-i tuning

Emanage can only control 1 and 2. Camcon can only control 1 and 3. Which combo of paramaters would give the best gains? I'm mostly looking for answers from people who have tuned all 3 paramaters and know first hand what the gains can be from each.

I think it really depends on what you are going to be doing with your car in the future. For FI I would say go with E-Manage because ignition timing and fueling is crucial for making power and engine life. For NA I would probably say go for the CAMCON because since you have no power adders the ability to control VVT is just about the only thing you can do. IMO getting both and hooking them up might be a good solution for you. With the Greddy Ultimate + Camcon you would have just about 95%functionality of a PFC, at probably 3/4 of the cost of the PFC and Datalogit. I would use the Ultimate for fuel, ignition, raise fuel cut, etc... and use the Camcon soley for VVT tuning.

i believe someone had a camcon with the e-manage. They only use the camcon for the VVTI, and they use the emanage for everything else.

i would really like to see a parts list, parameters, install, and gain specs for this combo...I am really considering doin this...

yea i am really contiplating this combo because i have a 03 so i cant use the power fc but does the ultimate really raise the fuel cut off???

Both added together (Emanage will need correct harnesses) would equal to PowerFC.
Go with PowerFC but for people with DBW you will have to settle with this combo.

Unless you can aford the Brash boy PFC ... which I cannot :wtc:
