I need an alignment and a valve adjustment ASAP. Just need to find a shop that will do it right the first time, and won't try to rip me off. Anyone out there have a hookup?

are you still having those missfire codes? Yup, at this point the only thing really left is misadjusted valves. Boosted2.0 said that was the most common reason for misfires in rebuilt engines. The shop that didn't put the engine back together right keeps putting me off, and I seriously need to get my car inspected before I get pulled over again.

Oh really? let me know how that goes, that could be my problem too but I think mine is becasue of my bigger injectors.
This is what I did to get my inspection, I erased the code and drove around slowly not reving pass like 3.5k for about 10 miles then I went to local shop and did the inspection. They passed it, no problems. They didnt even care about the non working side markers (toyota dealer failed me for those too) After I left the place and gunned the car the light came back again. I don't know maybe give that a shot, of course if you can get it fix even better.

Only problem is, the CEL comes back on the 2nd time the engine is started. If they shut the engine off, I'm screwed. :(

oh really? it always does that even if you don't rev it? if NJ is the same as NY they will shut the engine off first.. damn. If you can find someone that would hook you up the other thing you can do is bring another celi with you, have them scan your registration but test the other celi then you'll pass. I know someone who did that here.

Hmm, I'll see if I can convince one of my friends to do that. :p: He's got the same year/model as me.
