Hey guys I'm going to be moving to Boston soon for school and I just had a quick question. How are the road conditions during winter? I have a TRD springs drop and was wondering if I would need to swap on my stock springs cuz of the snow and ride height. Also I assume that our cars are pretty driveable cuz it's FWD, anyone confirm? I'm coming from california so i've never driven in snow... sorry if these are lame questions...

Well, I don't believe they got too much snow this past year, but I could be wrong. I know that in the winter of 2000/2001 when I still had my car, it was a bitch. I couldn't take an incline to save my life, and I was on stock rubber. If boston were to get the snow that they normally get, yes, you'd be a snow plow. Specially if you have a kit. But Boston is a fun town man, good luck in school.

i havent had a problem with snow, but then again coming from cali you'd prob be in for some trouble. trd spring drop is not much.. usualy they clear the streets before snow builds up that much. i have driven in 6" snow though. not bad.. just keep your momentum and dont be scared of slides. hehe.

traction with the yokohamas was an issue on inclines. around corners it was fine for me because it is just a matter of speed. ended up using the e-brake a few times. you'll get used to it.

boston pot holes however are another issue. thats what you have to worry about.

yeah....everything Doosh said.

If you've never driven in snow before, you're in for some fun. If I were you, after the first snow fall, go find an empty parking lot and do some snow driving. Practice your turns and learn your car's limits in the snow.

I know from experience that my celi easily drifts in the snow if you're not careful. And I'm talking about the back end of the car. just I've also driven with stock tires in the snow and they were fine. just be extra careful and slow. I also have TRD springs and you don't need to take them off.

Throw some snow tires on man, makes a world of difference. The car handles decent on regular tires, with the front wheel drive. But it handles mad good with snow tires. With regular tires, the car slips around and ABS kicks in a lot. My stock wheels have snow tires on them, my new rims have new yoko's on them. I swap wheels back and forth.

cool.. thanks for the replies guys... if I had it the way I wanted it, I would have a set of tires for autoxing, street, snow, and dragging.. LOL...
