I noticed that my paradas have
treadwear 300 traction A temperature A
ratings
my kumho's have
treadwear 280 traction AA temperature A
ratings
anyone done a comparison of the two?
judging by those ratings, it almost seems as if the kumho's would be stickier

It's all depend on the material of the rubber they used, for example, Bridgestone S-02 (in my cusin's WRX), once he "break in" the tires, it's getting stickier and stickier all the way til he had to change tire, and I've used Yokohama AVS intermedia b4, at first it is VERY sticky, but after about half the thread are gone, I have to get rid of them, coz they just don't do their job anymore. See what I mean?

yep... sure do.... i guess I'll find out how they do at the next autox, finally got my 16's back.... this whole lack of rotational mass should help a bit :)

My 712's were great when I first got them but grip goes away with the tread. They're slippery as hell now.

would any of you care to say which is the better tire? Heard anything about the parada spec 2? I m gonna get wheels soon, but since the paradas and supras are about the same price , i can't tell which is better since ive never driven a car equipped w either of them :(

As far as dry traction goes they are both comparable, however the parada will most likely have a bit more edge due to the large thread block design. The parada spec 2 is supposed to be sticker than the original one however the paradas still suck in the wet and the kumhos will outperform in the wet.

intersting... i'm wondering how the sidewall height will affect everything too, since my paradas are 215/35/18 and the kumho's are 205/50/16
(i know ... i know... it's not the tire, it's the driver... :D )

Is it true that Paradas are not directional? I just bought 4 of them with my new rims and it came with a note saying they are not directional. I ask this question because the left and right tires have thread patterns that seems pointing to the same site of the car. I hope they did not send me 4 of the same tires(like 4 right or left site tires).

They are not directional. When they are mounted on the car. The lines will face the same way wether you are looking at the left or right side of the car.
