I just finished installing the springs. My first impression after standing back and looking at it was that I actually see a difference from stock. The front and back is noticably lower and I scraped backing out from my driveway. I thought it was suppose to settle in first before it actually lowered? Now im scared of how low it would go in a month or so:scared:.
I think theres something wrong though...does cutting the front bumpstop affect ride height(1.25" according to instructions)? I also drove around and on the highway and heard nothing so i think i installed it right.
I will definately have pictures up tomorrow so you guys can actually see what im talking about.

Cutting them is necessary to reduce bottoming out, since the springs cause the struts to compress further than stock.

maybe its just me and theres nothing wrong :).....
I did run into one problem installing. When I was tightening the top nut on the front strut it kept twisting the rubber boot. The plate on top of the boot also moves as I torque it causing the tabs to misalign. I couldnt get it to specs....

wow this is the first i heard about the pro kit being lower then usual. I think you would just need the springs to settle for a lil bit. In time the height should raise back up.

How much drop are the TRD springs? I know Eibach makes them. Is the TRD springs a Pro-kit or a Sport.

its a little less than a three finger gap....
I'm also getting this rubbing sound in the front(i think its the rubber boot and the springs??) when accelerating from half a turn before full lock.

It prob hasnt settled completely on the spring perch or you just might need an alignment. As far as the spring settleing, Eibach already preloads their springs at the factory so you wont notice much difference in drop after a while, prob only like a 1/4 inch or less .

From looking at the pics I am going to have to say that looks much lower than the Pro-kit drop to me, but that is just me. Perhaps it is just the pics but it looks lower than 1.25 to me. Take a ruler and measure from the wheel center to the top of the fenderwell or bottom of your fender and tell us what you get.

wow, that looks pretty low for prokit.. the eibach pro kit is about a 1.1.-1.2" drop, are you sure u didn't get the sportlines by accident?

The part number imprinted on the spring was for the pro-kit so its right.

WOW....im fvcked
Bought these brand new off a member here who bought it from an ebay store...I checked it out and they sell alot of springs so didnt see a problem there.
Is it the springs itself? will reinstalling help?
Sorry for all the questions but its really bugging me cuz I didnt really want much of a drop just better handling

so if I drive around like this...the struts would be done in no time just like sportlines right?

man that looks lower than my TRD.......
I have stock 16s on and I have 3 finger in front and 2 in the back....
I just changed out my TRDs with Hotchkis yesterday and with my SAME STOCK 16s,
I have 4 finger gap in front and 2 finger gap in the back......!!
I am very sure my install is correct becuse making sure the springs are seated correctly was the first thing I know.........
this is pissing me off.......!! :bang:

I take my previous statement back. After looking at some newer pics I would say that the drop is correct. Your tires a making up a big difference right now. I guarantee you if you put my wheels and tires on there LOL then you would think it was stock height again.

do you think I'll need an alignment?
oONoGoAutoOo

you should always get an alignment done whenever u lower the car.

Or even whenever you remove a suspension component (minus sways/endlinks). Removing struts, springs, steering knuckles, or even the front crossmember can alter your alignment.

wow, thats not low at all. Picture if you got the sportlines or something. i guess it's on preference. I know if i had your car, i could make everything. I'm dropped on the tanabe superdowns..2.2 in the front and 2.5 in the rear. and i have a low bodykit. And still no scraping. And sometimes i still dont' think it's low enough.

Wow... thats as low as mine w/ the S-tech, 1.5 front and back and my stock 16s. Like someone said earlier... it could be the tires that you have on. What is the thickness of those tires anyways? 55, 60, 65? Nice looking car btw...

reinstalled the spring/struts again to get rid of the rubbing between the boot and spring sound. Now my car drifts to the left a little with the steeering wheel centered. Its off 10-15 degrees.
What causes this?any tips to prevent this during reinstallation? The first time i installed the springs nothing happend. Steering was straight.
