I ordered a kit from a shop here for an air cylinder setup for my suspension. I've decided I want this to protect my new body kit ( I want to be able to lower/raise my car as needed while driving, plus will soon be showing this). What are some things I want to make sure are in the kit? I want the fastest one, which is supposedly what they got, and they already told me they will include the checkvalves for each tire. They have to custom make brackets since there isn't a particular kit that fits our Celi's.

I almost bought a touch screen monitor setup for the gauges and saving settings, but after I asked, the place said that this particular setup only allows me to either set each one all the way down, or all the way up.

I want to be able to slam it, have it really low, semi-low (about where my car sits now with the coilovers - 3" lower or so), stock height, and maybe a little higher - adjust side to side, front and back.

I need some input on what to make sure they order - so far, kit + labor is $2500 plus another $200 for the custom brackets. Then I think I need to get the digital gauges and thing that allows me to save settings.

Thanks in advance for the help - if it's easier, shoot me ur telephone # in a PM and I will call you. I'm spending a LOT of money on this and want to be sure I get what I need.

Thanks,

Kristin

You do relize before you buy this , that the car's handeling will be thrown out the window , & this is very stressfull on the cars body ??? Have you ever ridden in a air ride setup ? <<< It feels really ghetto

I would try to find a car to ride in first , If I was you before you waste your $$$ . See if it is really worth it to you for everything that will be sacrificed ,Plus that's gonna hurt the resale value pretty bad ,since everyone knows it will make the car fall apart . How about a Nice Tein SSP With EDFC setup and save $1000 ???? Ultimatelly Its your choice ,but Air-setup's arn't really cool any more , exspecially on a car made for the twisties like the celica . Good luck with what ever you do ....

ahhhhhhh I forgot about the SSPs. I have the Basics right now and like them. Thing is, I already put the deposit down for the air suspension. With the EDFC, can I adjust the ride height from inside the car? I think it's just for ride comfort, no? I'm mainly concerned about cracking the fiberglass kit and want to raise the car if needed. And what do you mean it'll feel ghetto? Bouncy or what?

Thanks for the reply!

i am doing the same thing to my car baggin is the s**t. as for ride confort bags are the best. for the fastest get 1/2" lines run some parker valves and a thomas compressor, and high quality bags. remember don't drive the car with it all the way down or all the way up you *WILL* do damage to the bags. as for more info about baggin go to www.streetsource.com its a website about baggin cars and lols of people will help you there and tell you where to get parts cheaper and what parts are good.

thomas

p.s. welcome and you got laid :crazy2:  :crazy2:

did I get laid? well, it IS the weekend so I'm sure hahahahah. Thanks for your input...did you get bags or cylinders? I'm getting cylinders, 5 gallon tank and the hoses are 3/8". I want to know what I'm getting as far as the kit goes...like you're throwing names out at me but when I ask them, all they tell me is, the kit has everything you need for the air suspension. I don't know if I'm being too vague with my questions or they are just skirting around my questions. What kind of questions should I be asking them?

Thanks so much for your reply!

I would try and see if i couldnt convert the Praxxis system to a celi. As far as i Know it is the only performance air system out there and it is ride height adjustable from inside the car.
As to the feel theonly cars I have ridden in with air bags felt very floaty and not connected to the ground at all. Personally I want my celi to feel celica ish not cadi ish.

First off, you can't use cylinders in the front, unless they are specifically for a Mac sturt car. Even then, I wouldn't use cylinders, they ride like **** and the shaft can break. I've had my car bagged for over two years now with no problems. I would recommend Universal Air strut bags, the fit over your stock struts and ride awesome. For Valves, I would go with parker gold valves. They are a great valve and don't have problems with sticking. Get a Viair compressor as they already have a check valve built in, and also get a water seperator. Handling isn't effected at all that I've noticed, but I don't do autocross or anything. It won't hurt re-sell value either, I could take my whole suspension back to stock in less than a day and no one would ever know it was bagged. I just looked at trading my car in, and the dealer is giving me more than KBB value to leave the bags on the car. I've worked with many air suspensions on cars and trucks, so if you need anymore help feel free to pm me.
