So I bought parking bulbs in advanced so it'll look good when they finally get here. I think they're a little purple and cynthia says they're super white. I kinda wish they were like the stock bulbs so it would light up the headlight (they're LEDs from ebay) but damn they look x10000 better than stock color.

nice, looks blue in the pic

do u get bothered for the clear corners?

steak

not at all, but i don't drive it into areas with cops like waikiki at night and all that. yea if i hold out my hand i'll see a slightly blue ring but with just the eyes they look white. I won't get blue bulbs (even though they'll probably give me what i want which is for the headlight to light up) but at least it looks clean.

the cop who pulled me over for speeding and gave me a ticket tried to give me **** about the clear corners....what a fork arse biyatch. puahaha that doesn't even make sense but it sounds good.

Damn you're getting HIDs. I wanted to get them but I never wanted to shell out the money for them. Instead I went the stupid way and got bulbs instead :(. Hopefully within a year I'll be able to afford a HID kit so they can match my fogs. :)

yeah, it's so expensive for HIDs. plus all the little things like the bulbs, i just ordered another set for the license plate so it'll match the front more. And I'm gonna have to beg cynthia to let me use her debit card to order yellow fogs (I was tempted last nite after installing these bulbs, but then I realized it would really just be for show cuz I don't think i'll drive around with two yellow fogs, especially with my HIDs. plus, when does it ever really fog here? or get too hard to see for that matter.)

Wow I didn't notice what that was at first but when I realized what it was it looks pretty damn slick. HIDs are going to match your car perfectly.

what kind of bulbs did u get?

steak

piaa h3 yellow ion crystal, just string those words together on ebay and you'll find them. Took me a while to make them line up correctly because I accidentally just took apart the foglight as opposed to just twisting the cap off. they light up like 2-3 feet in front of the car pretty nicely as seen in the picture (which was taken in the afternoon indoors) there's a space after that that's just nothing or lighted like a regular halogen, then it continues on to line up on the bottom of the head light's beam. not bad for 50 bucks, I just want the lexus/acura type of vibe when you look at the car.

oh, and i think driver's side is a bit brighter, it won't look great if I show off the beams but looking on the "bright" side it'll help me more while driving, plus it's noticeably yellow, too bad it's not the kind like on lexus. haha, i guess it's my second rice object (first being the stickers)

anyone have experience with aftermarked HIDs? Would I need to really get more things like projectors and stuff? I hope not cuz that'd be costly. As long as I don't blind other people and the cutoff line is close to stock i'd be happy.

i've installed a couple of HID brand name KNOCKOFF's on a couple of my friends cars.

if i were you, shell out the money for a quailty kit, most of my friends one died already.

there's a special deal on matrixowners.com on HID's i think it was pretty cheap, around 2x5 (dont know the middle number :faint: )

they were mulloch 4th gens or 5th gens...forgot that too haha.

p.s. i like your taste in appearance mods, looking good! :applaud:

i already ordered a set from 88house through sean and clint. Just wondering if i should do the whole HID retrofit thing, probably won't do it.

ps - thanks, trying to keep the car real clean. To bad I've decided on getting hood pins cuz I like to hit lift so I'm guessing that would heighten the chance of a cf hood flying up.

oh lol. my bad on my part heh.

eventually i'll retrofit HID's into my car too, i just need the acutal projectors and then i can fabricate the housing from my house

haha, i'm so cheap, i'll just stick with doing just the bulbs for now, rather spend the money on body kit and rims. ouch, yesterday was the first time i put $30 for gas. hehe, good thing cynthia paid $10 for me.

88house, anyone think my line is too high? for some reason, while driving, if a person is ahead of me I can actually see the beam go through their back window. Or is the stock line just that high?

sometimes..depends on the vehicle type lol, trucks..of course not hahahah..but yeah, some smaller ones it does. Only when I adjust it to the highest level. I usually face it a bit lower to avoid those stinken pot holes :bang:

looks good, but ur supposed to aim the lights while being 15-20 ft away from the wall, but mines is about there.

steak
03-24-2006, 08:45 PM
ah, i see. i didn't aim them at all, just let sean put em in. How do you aim em?

theres a dial behind the lights. just put ur hand down the gap area at the top of the light and you'll feel a loose cylinder thing, go further down and you'll feel a bigger, but smaller dial, if that makes any sense, and just turn that to aim. i forgot which way goes up and down.

Do I have to take off the front bumper or just pop the hood open?

skamikaze
03-29-2006, 03:24 PM
i dont know if it changed on newer models, but for mine (2000) you cant just "turn a dial" the loose cylinder is the headlight adjustment piece. you have to take off the "loose cylinder" and it exposes a long screw. get a screwdriver and turn it which ever way to adjust the height of the light. sorry i dont know which way is which. i remember i had a lot of trial and error in the UH parking lot :chuckles:

from what i did, the dial is under the loose cylinder, i read that was for horizontal adjustment not vertical.

no u dont heed to remove the bumper
