Get some vise grip pliers and a strip of aluminum or copper. Wrap the strip around the strut's pushrod and clamp over it with the plier as hard as you can. Then you should be able to remove the nut. You'll also want a spring compressor to keep the strut top from launching off.

Make sure to be using a spring compressor to compress the spring before you go removing that nut!!!!!!! We don't want anybody missing any limbs or worse killed from doing something like this without proper knowledge and tools. Depending on the rate of the spring some springs have enough stored energy to fly off at velocities high enough to kill you, so please be careful.

yeah be sure to use a compressor to relieve all the stress from the springs then .. just use a allen and a wrench.. if u have to, use a impact gun

use vice grips at least a wall mounted springs compressor would be best.

fronts arnt terrible if their stock springs, but still use compressor, it helps sooo much to break it first while the struts are still in the car though. if you lay it outside and pop it without a compressor it might shoot like 2 ft...

^^^ Yeah, you should have broken it loose while the entire essembly was still in the car. Works like a charm.
