Hey all,
Whats the best kind of aftermarket batery to put in a celica?
I'm putting in a video system so I'll need a strong battery to draw from. Also do you think I'll need to upgrade my alternator?
I'm putting in a 5.6 sun-visor lcd, A VCR, Xbox, and PS2.
I'm gonna hard wire a power transformer to the rear trunk light, and run the xbox and PS2 off that. hard wire the vcr in and place the lcd on the passenger side visor.
What do you think? sound good?

A lot of people have been putting in those optima batteries. I don't know the differences between the 2 colors though. Red is for something and yellow for something else.....

I've check out that web site. I don't think that one will work well for me.
Any other suggestions. Anyone.

I killed my stock batteries while install/testing the AV system. I have the whole alpine deal....Navi, DVD, CD changer, amp, sub etc... Replaced it with an energizer battery and seems good thus far. Optima is good if you plan to drain the battery completely often....but there is no need...just have the engine running....
Stock alternator will do fine.....

thanks guys, keep the options coming.
do you think I could hard wire a power invertor into that rear trunk light, and get a constat power supply? I've got someone making me a false floor for the trunk area, to hide all the electronics. I just need to install the monitor into the passenger sun-visor and run the wireing.
Anyone know how to get that vanity mirror out?

I'm running an Optima Yellow in my car.
Definitely an awesome battery. The stock battery died in one day with the system i'm running.
The red is more for pure cranking amps, and the yellow is better for deep cycle applications (i.e. powerful sound systems)
