Remember the limited production Mazda MP3 from last year?

Well Mazda is bringing it back, this time with a turbo'd 2.0 liter! All reviews I read on that car last year went out of their way to praise it's excellent handling...and all reviews dumped on it's lack of power for such a capable chassis. Well this year Mazda is bringing over 2000 more with a 170hp 2.0 turbocharged engine. Yes 170 is low for a blown 2.0 these days, but being a turbo powerplant, I'm sure it can be relatively easily "enhanced" ;)

Wow, that should be great. Every article I read about the car said all it needed was some more power, and it would trounce every other compact FWD car. Supposedly the handling was excellent, and very fun to drive. And the car looks good too.
I guess Toyota will be the last to join the fun if they ever decide to. The Corolla S is a joke. Matrix has the wrong engine.

what engine do you suggest djm? 2JZ? or go old skool and dump a 3S-GTE in there...why does it have the wrong the engine?

It needs more torque. I don't care what they put in there. It seems like there is plenty of room for the 3S-GTE in there. Anything with more torque though.

Every four cylinder that toyota makes should be a 3S-GTE. The freaking engine is still in production. Make a special edition celica with it and I will sell my GT-S today.
