New Golf GTI

Was browsing the magazine rack in the local shop (as you do) only to come across a motor mag with a pic of the new Golf GTI, with a quoted 240hp - ouch. Thats sure to be some serious competition for the Celica... even more so as its likely to be 4WD.

yeah the same bread as clio gt and S3... they'll probably cost something like 25000quid, there is no point in those super hatchbacks, really...

Well they are quick, good if u live on your own and dont have to drive long distances... but too small for my liking, although the Golf isnt too bad. I drove a MK4 1.6l version which I enjoyed. one other bit of news I read was that the new Nissan Z car was to start at around

I think this was the new MKV Golf, not like the current shape, it may have been a concept picture for all I know, I only looked at the cover, but 240 hp ina Golf... probably will be quicker than the WRX, but not a WRX in STi form.

golf beats an impreza? YEAH RIGHT. the new model is slow cuz outside japan we don't get the 280bhp version, but the P1s, STis, please. no comparison.

not to brag but IM GETTIN A WRX!!!!!!! (as soon as my celis gets done eta nov24) if you havent driven a wrx i recomend just checkin it out wait till about 5000 rpms when the turbos pumpin all 14.2 pounds of boost i promise your head will be buried in the head rest....and the limited slip......awd...and...227 ponies cant wait now all i need is a boost controller

i've driven an evo6 once 316bhp. now that car is ****ing amazing... 230hp is enough power to have lots of fun!!

I didnt mean the current Gofl GTi, which is a dog.. I was comparing the new golf specs (for the concept car proposed - 240hp) vs a 215hp Impreza, I think the Golf would be quicker for a more powerful, smaller and maybe lighter car. I wasnt comparing this to the Sti, 22B, P1 or any other modded Impreza! Doh! :)
