how do i set up the vip rs3200 so alarm will go off when u lock doors with remote? i press lock on the remote, yet i can open the door with the key without alarm going off. i even waited a minute thinking there was some sort of delay for the alram to go off. the only way i have been able to set off alarm was with passive arming, but the alarm only goes off if u leave a door unlocked when it gets armed. any help would be great. thanks alot.

The door lock cylinder has an integral switch, that serves to disarm the alarm. This feature permits entering an armed vehicle, with a key, without the remote.
It is possible to test the alarm, by leaving the window open, then arming the system, then reach in and open the door.

Yes, when you use the key to open a door it unarms that door temporarily. It only does that because you used the key. If you tried to pry the door open or break the window the alarm will go off. Same deal with the hatch. You can leave your alarm armed and still open the hatch if you use the key, and the alarm is still armed but doesn't go off. It resets again once the hatch is closed.
The best thing I ever did was program the remote so that it unlocks both doors and the hatch on the first push. I hated having to push it twice within 3 seconds or whatever it is set as a default. Unfortunately I have to hit it twice to unlock my passenger side door on my truck, and no way to program it otherwise.
