Hey guys, this is my first post since I've been up here so figured i'd start off by saying whats up? Now to the point, does anyone have the Tanabe Racing Development's Front Strut tower bar cause I saw it on their website for like $98 and wondered if anyone had any feedback to go along with it cause I definately want one but i'm not about to pay $300-400 if i damn sure don't have to.
Thanks for the help if any

i dont know where your getting 300-400, ive never seen a strut bar for that much.
personally im not a fan of the tanabe strut bar, its got those flimsy hinges and weak looking braces where it connect to the strut towers.
for ~200 you could get a c-one or nrash boy which are both really really strong.

get whats availible and cheapest. They are all 99% the same thing. APR's are real nice and look good and function good. Theres Skunk2, tanabe, megan racing, c-one, carbing, beatrush...tons of em.

I had the tanabe and the ends do bend... I would recommend either the beatrush or c-one. You can check out either one of these by clicking my Kami Speed sig!

RMM/APC, Carbing, and APR should be the strongest. The first 3 are solid 1pc bars, and APR is 3pc, but the bolts don't create a pivot point like on every other 3pc strut bar out there.

I understand the rigidity part of it, but since a strut bar works in mostly tension and also compression, how will a pivot point affect the way it functions?

I have the Tanabe...its very solid when mounted on the car. The endplates conform to the mouting surface and it adjusts to fit the car properly..i guess it could flex at that point under load. I'd say it still performs it's function 90% of the other bars out there, which are mostly for looks anyways.

Any Chasis reinforcement on a light agile car will have benefits almost regardless if it's front wheel drive.
It's well known, even if you do a search, that some sort of rear bar for an open hatch only helps.
For our cars the 3 point bars are the best with one being gone ( doesn't help with understeer and strengthens a weak point in our Celicas). Along with that a front strut bar and some sort of tie bar are the best basic chasis mods.
I would say our Celica's should have come with a front strut bar like most cars, but our cars are front wheel drive and that would be like adding insult to injury.
Why not a rear bar stock? Because, most lazy sh.ts in this world need luggage space for golf clubs*, groceries, and the like. Hence the hatch back/a big open space that can be filled in with multitudes of crap and nothing to do with how a car handles. Toyota got that right with the space, and a bar that fills it in should you not care. That should have been there from the inception.
I would love to see more feed back on those chasis bars from Beatrush or whoever that go in the trunk and the fenders.
Some people get the right combo of chasis reinforcement for our cars. The right front strut bar is always left up to discussion. Some get the stiffest front bar and a rear Cusco 3 point bar yet run on stock struts with some sportline springs and an alignment they saw on a website. Just for example. What's the point in that? People say one bar is better. Who knows? It all depends.
I say chasis reinforement should be left till the end. Forget it in fact and concentrate on springs/stuts, coilovers, sways, tires, and a good alignment/settup. Get that right and go for the right bars.
Chasis reinforcement is just bling bling without the right foundation.

It does, since Laile (Beatrush) and C-ONE tests and redesigns all their products through a 6 month period, to achieve the best results as possible. This is very important, specially because they are constantly participating in race events throughout Japan. Furthermore, Laile must keep its reputation of high quality parts since they manufacture other company's products in Japan like Cusco.
