Ok, i'm lookin to up date my sound system, but i know that if i want i want the good stuff, it's gonna cost me. Now, i'm not lookin for anything big, just a little more than i got. Now, i've been told that just swappin out the stock speakers makes a big improvement. How much would it cost to swap out stock speakers for 6 good speakers? I'm also lookin for subs. Now, ive been told that those Bazooka subs, the ones that look like NOS bottles (i think that's the brand), come as 10" with an amp already built in and 200 watts. Now, if i get two, i'll have 400 watts. Is that a good number? I don't know the first thing about sound system, and i don't want too much, just a little more. Does 2 bazooka 10" subs with 400 watts and amps built in sound like a good deal for $600 dollars? Any info would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

I've got a NOS8 tube thats unpowered and handles 400. That thing kicks hard, harder than my 12"s. Do you have a new HU already? That would be the first thing you want to update. Plus the speaker swap is only 4, unless you count tweeters, so you need a component set and one normal.

Ok, i'm REALLY new to the audio thing and i don't know what a bunch of those words were. What do you mean "unpowered"? And what exactly is a HU and tweeters? Sorry about askin all the dumb questions, but i just don't know the first thing about this stuff.
Thanks again for the info

you need to get the following things
a head unit ( i would get one with mp3 function) pioneer, alpine, kenwood, sony are all good brands for those
for speakers pick up alpine, jl, pioneer, or kicker. you will need a pair of 6 1/2's in the front and a pair in the back
as for your sub, go with kicker jl mtx or eclipse
get yourself a decent amp with about 250-300 watts of power
you could also pick up a set of tweeters from any of the brands above.
overall you will probably spend about 600-800 bucks with installation.

if you want some loud bass, i would also recommend optima battery and a capacitor...and power your speakers including your sub with external amp(s)...

Go with infinity. Not very expensive and still good quality. Just go to crutchfield.com and enter your car information and it will tell you what fits. If you go to that website they also have a nice feature where you talk to a guy online sorta like instant messaging. Ask him all the questions you want for free and if you give them your email address they will send the convo to your email address to review later.
