which one is better Tein ss-p or Tein Ha coilovers? pro and cons guys??
That's a good way to draw me out tranmk.
The HA and SSP both have the same spring rates, the same damping adjustability, and the same green case as the SS always.
The HA comes with a set of helper springs that are on the bottom next to the spring perch.
What are the benefits of a helper spring? Nothing, according to Tein with the SSP and new spring manufacturing that eliminates the helper spring. I don't believe that.
The biggest con for the HA's is rust. The SSP's are supposed to be more anti-corrosive with either better paint or a film of stuff they put on on the dampers at the factory according to Tein.
The HA's still use the stock upper mounts while the SSP's use a solid pillowball mount/camber plates in the front that can allow for a custom alignment that's not achievable with the stock mounts and the HA.
The SSP also has the option for the EDFC which isn't possible for the HA.
A huge selling point.
The SSP is slightly smaller than the HA and gives more of an option for a bigger drop (don't know for sure about that).
I have both and honestly with the options of the SSP it's easy to forget the HA's. When I first had the SSP's installed I noticed the ride seemed just a tad more comfortable even at the same damping settings and with the pillowball mounts. The ability to adjust the camber in the front to 2 degrees or more easily was a huge plus for me.
I'm have been running on the HA's in the front for a while (my front SSP's went south). The HA's are still a good coilover except for the rust problem and the lack of camber plates. I have run the HA's at almost full stiff at 22 clicks to the right and they are great with a full stiff 16 rear. Only on occasion.
The are both pretty much the same except for the helper spring (HA) and upper mounts (SSP).

hey Thor,
can't you use the pillow mounts from the SS on the HA's?
No, the SSP pillowball mounts can't be use. I once had pictures here comparing the two coilovers and from that it's obvious.
I'll try to take some more pics of them compared (my SSP's are boxed and ready to ship to Tein).
The only thing I know that works are Cusco camber plates. As I always said Tein doesn't recommend them, yet they are miles above the other choice Hotchkis' strut bar w/camber plates. I have one rotting away in my basement if you want it for super cheap.
