i had to go to a Loudoun County Planning Commision meeting tonight for a govt course i take at GMU. The meeting was for 6pm in Leesburg. It was like 530 and i was on my way to the meeting. I was on 7 right past the gw university center and i had to come to almost a complete stop right after the light cause there was congestion. This old black lady in an olds 88 or something is going like 45 mph and just plows my car.

the damage is preety bad. She took off my whole bumper and i have preety extensive damage to the drivers rear. She was charged at fault but my car will be gone for a while( or indefinetly :( ) I still plan to attend the meet rain or shine on saturday , it just wont be the same without my baby. It sucks. I just put on my blitz intake last night, i was going to get door dings pulled tommorow afternoon while i was at Mason and i was to pick up my strut tower bars from the powder coaters tommorow also. She ruined my weekend.

That's too bad, man! Hey, but if it helps, tell the insurance company if it's not totalled you want it fixed at Craftsman Autobody in Sterling(the Lane Ct. shop). I work there and have been autobody tech for 23 yrs. I'll make sure your Celica gets repaired properly! My brother(24 yrs experience) & my dad(47 yrs experience) and I work together. So, give us a call Mike & we'll have her back to you good as new. I'll look for you at the meet on Sat. & talk to you then. Bill Kidwell

still no word on whats gonna happen. A rough estimate was $8000 but its hard to say cause there is most likely frame damage too. Why there is no word is cause the lady provided false insurance info(or doesn't have any insurance) so my company sent her a letter last friday to try and obtain her info. If it is toatalled(any expert opinions?) im gonna either get another Celica or get a s2000.

If it is $8000 of damage then it's not totalled. The definition of "totalled" is that it will costs more to fix than it is worth. So even if that's a 2000 model (the oldest one) the car is still worth what -- $15000 or so? So you would need $15,000 of damage to make if totalled. That's what I've heard at least -- I could be wrong.

skreemin_trdgts

Actually, the estimate only has to reach about 75% of the of the car's value (give or take 5% depending on the insurance company).
Mike, that doesn't look too bad to me. I've fixed hella lot worse than that. I'm tellin' ya dude, bring it to us. We'll take care of you!

I started the work on MikeT's GT-S today. I'm thinkin about starting a separate thread showing the progressive stages of the repair with pic's and info, if it's OK with Mike.
Would everybody be interested in seeing his Celica as it goes thru the stages of the repair? You guys(and gals) could get to ask any questions and make any comments on what you'd see & read. I think it would make for an interesting thread!
What do ya think?

OK , How do I show the pic's in the forum? Sorry, but I'm computer-illiterate!
The nc.org FAQ page says to upload the pic's to a server. Is this the best way? If so, which is the best server to use? I know people have a hard time viewing the pic's on some of them. Can't I just upload them from my computer to the thread? I want them to show up just like MikeT's & TRDcelicaGT's pic's up above did.
I got some REALLY good pic's today & now that Mike has given the OK, I'm dying to let you all see them. PLEASE HELP!!!!!
SORRY I'M SO COMPUTERETARDED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can't upload them to the site any more. (bandwidth issues) I upload them to www.imagestation.com , pretty nice site by Sony. they have become more dificult to work with lately but still pretty good. If it's your first time just read the directions that they give and follow along until the photos are in an album. Then when they are in an album scroll through using the "previous" and "next" buttons at the bottom. When you find the one you want right click and go to "Properties" then highlight and copy the address (control C). Now back on this site type your reply as usual and add
[9img9]address-you-copied-here-with-no-spaces[9/img9]
*Don't type the number 9's and the image will appear when you hit submit.

schlegelbagel

or I would offer to host them on my image site if you email them to me.

kaioshin
05-22-2002, 06:05 AM
yup www.imagestation.com works well, but their upload tools have been screwed up for a while... you have to manually each image which is a pain in the ass... otherwise you all would have seen Hoochie Mama Beth in her "You the world my ass" pose by now...

Damn it... hehehe... :D
