Today a friend a mine had a little photo shoot of her car. There are some misc pics thrown in just because they were there. Just thought I'd share:

This is my new 60-1 turbo. The compressor housing diamter is as big as a 12-pack of Sprite :)

Shami and her little red Civic.

Aww how cute, some school girls.

At the photo shoot location, just relaxing while the photographer does his thing.

Spooky building we shot in front of.

His tripod alone cost more than my camera (Sony DSC-P1)!

If you see this little girl on the street, don't even try to run her unless you've got a Z06 or Viper on the spray... serious.

Pony getting jiggy with the pole.

Stock B18B (non-VTEC Integra LS motor) with a T04b, 440cc injectors, and Hondata 4b engine management. Best official time is 11.8@120mph on pump gas, but it's actually faster than that on real fuel.

The engine bay had a strut bar that probably cost as much as my turbo. In the back he had some weird exhaust that sounded pretty nice. Like a motorcycle. Also had a carbon fiber rear valence panel that looked pretty spendy. Overall, nice car but slow.

At least slow in a straightline. It still should do 13s no problem. I bet it handles wonderfully though. I'd prefer the car to drive on rails then be blazing fast anyway.

But why all that cool work in a freaking CIVIC...it's a CIVIC for God's sake!

That being said, I hope I never see her on the highway, it would hurt my feelings to lose VERY BADLY to a CIVIC!

won't running so much boost on stock internals seriously reduce the longevity of the engines?

kinda cool to see hwo magazine stuff works like that.

big claims for the civic...if i may ask, how much money did it take to get her car to the 11.8's?

I think I remember him showing a video of the car about a month or two ago and he said everything + the car came out to like 9 grand?

Your combustion chambers look at 20psi of boost and just laugh. It's the cylinder pressure that will break your motor if it gets too high. 20psi at the manifold is one thing. A 4000psi spike in the cylinder due to bad tuning is an entirely different thing.

Cary, i can tell you've been reading the build up book...lol...good boy. i'm almost done with jason's copy, but i think i'll read it 4 or 5 more times before i give it back. as for a less technical explanation of why stock motors can withstand such a beating--the car has seen 20 psi everyday for 2 months. at that rate it will probably last another 3 or 4 years . boost does not damage motors--****ty tuning does. fortunately, my Mr.Wizard knows what he's doing behind a laptop, so im confident in the motor's longevity. we've done the same thing in the past with a 6th gen hatch--ungodly amounts of boost on a stock bottom end with engine management, and after a year and a half, the owner decided to step up the power and begin a long term project with the car. when we pulled the motor out, it was still running like a champ--no heat spots, no excessive wear, etc. anyway, i'll keep you cats updated on any new cool **** i get or figure out or whatnot.
...and my puppy's name is Mugen. :)
--shami.
p.s.---buy Sport Compact Car in 4 months! hehe..

Hey Shami, I think you're going to need some more power. I'm getting my block sleeved by GE with an 84mm bore, Eagle rods, and JE pistons :) :) :) So I'll be able to run some real boost, not this rinky dink 20psi kids stuff. ;) I think you're going to need a LOT more than 300whp if you want to beat me. You're lucky my 60-1 is only good to about 580whp :(

Get used to calling me Mr. Buck-Thirty Plus :)

Edit: I wonder if they'd get mad if I posted that pic of George leaving his autograph on Bergenholtz's car hahah

580 HP?? Stop! Please! I'm on the verge of pissing myself...

isn't it cute when kids dream? lol....
oh yeah, we're getting our injectors soon.....:D :D :D

just remember what you'll be seeing between my tail lights: TWO BAR. oh yeah, and "Yeild to the Princess"...lol.

Indeed they do.. I was watching a Best Motoring video from Japan where they had a track race with an NSX, a Skyline GTR V-Spec II, an RX-7, WRX STi, BMW M coupe, Evolution VII and a Ferrari and the NSX ended up beating them all..

Speed isn't everything.. it's a hell of alot - but speed without control sucks.

i have a similar video, except in this one, the GTR goes crazy and overtakes everyone through the sand on the side and just runs away with it.

i met her the first time i'd ever drank at a party.
i ended up talking to her for so long because she was so knowledgeable that i had trouble getting up afterwards.

i also learned that the fruit punch...isn't fruit punch.
ohhh......painful memories.
i was so dumb.

its nice to see shami behind the wheel of a wicked car again.
