Car and Driver:

"Chrysler will recall more than 1.1 million Jeep vehicles, including 2000-2002 Jeep Wranglers, 2000-2001 Jeep Cherokees and 1999-2002 Jeep Grand Cherokees (all with 4-liter inline six-cylinder engines) to fix an engine problem that could result in a fire.

"The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said the engine's air intake passages were designed in such a way that debris could accumulate over one cylinder, creating the possibility of a fire. The fix is a manifold shield to prevent such accumulation.
A Chrysler spokeswoman said the company had received no reports of injuries from the problem.

"NHTSA also announced that Ford was recalling 250,283 Ford Windstar minivans in northern states to fix possible corrosion in their brake lines. A Ford spokesman said no injuries had been reported from the problem."

A lot of us are spoiled. We complain about squeaks and rattles. Domestic cars have to worry about engine fires. A similar recall was done for a recent model of the Dodge Caravan, i believe. Go hug a Toyota now!

My Celi caught on fire but it was my own fault. Tried to barbecue out of the hatchback. ;)

The Focus is having big problems too.

I believe I have seen two Celica's reporting thrown rods causing fires, ask Yakko. But this was a freak thing no9t normal.

The Focus, Escape are having some big recalls. Remember the Cobra low out problems. GM is recalling alot of vehicles for some ignition fire problems. Ford had that problem in alot of vehicles as well. I can't stand GM quality. Dodge's trucks used to have some sagging issues if you would attempt to haul anything with them.
I definately like owning a Toyota.

If Toyota built a faster truck I'd have bought it. Unfortunately (or not) Ford does build one. :D

I wonder how a trd supercharged s-runner would do against a lightning? I've never seen any numbers on them. Hmmm. Not sure.
