Help: Fiber Images hood problem

Umm well I turned a corner and sped up to 45 and about 40 or so my hood scoop just flew off my car....... the bolts holding it on were still on the hood and the threaded inserts came out of the hood scoop all 4 of them... anyone know of someone I can contact about this or if basically i'm **** out of luck?

luckily it was just your Hoodscoop...

at least it wasn't the whole hood... and at least the hood scoop didn't get someones car. any suggestions on what to do?

this same thing happened to mine.... just epoxy the threads back in and it wont move again...

man doesn't it suck though, i have scratches all over the hood scoop now... almost not worth putting back on...

i would complain... mine didn't come all the way off, just the front two came off and the scoop raised up at high speeds

I got my first one in October 2001 back when Mike was selling them on Ebay. Beat that hehe..

About the hoodscoop flying off- I'd definately call them up and complain. I mean, the thing is supposed to withstand that kind of wind resistance. Poor quality?

Anyone else have any horror stories?

Well I did email them yesterday and if I don't have a reply by wed (my day off) I will give them a call for sure. I'm digging the red scoop on it right now though :) hehe

dam im not even close.... 6 months.... i got them in november.... but still thats not the point... i need to get that **** painted.

did you make sure you used the washers on the underside when you screw it on?
of you didn't use the washers the screws might have been small enough to fit threw the holes in the hood and fly off...

have you looked at the pictures yet? If you would have you would have noticed that was not possible since the threads on the hood scoop came entirely off. The bolts were still attached to the threads on the hood after the hood scoop went bye bye

fiber images sux @$$ i hate them i ordered a hood from them a while back and first of all it ran me a **** load but then it took 4 months for it to get sent to me and it was ****ed like crazy so i sent it back to get a new one then it took 5 months to get the next one and that one sucked ass too but this time they would take it back so basically i was stuck wiht an expensice piece of $**t. I HATE FIBER IMAGES!!!!!

wow this is the first instance I have heard of fiber images being bad. I have always heard them spoken in a higher regard.

yep, that's exactly what mine did. also my FI hood isn't perfect... it has some pretty big imperfections... very noticable lines running through it... hard to explain but it's like two sections of the hood are pushed out a little...
