Hey guys,
I just bought a 2001 celica GTS fully loaded leather, sunroof, action package etc etc. It didn't come with a remote for the keyless entry, but my freind says that during auctions the remotes are usually discarded. My question is how do I find out if my car came with keyless entry?

get your vin number and do a search online, or check with a toyota dealer...

you can check if there a module box underneath your console. If yours didn't come stock then chances are it's an aftermarket. Let's say if and only if they installed a remote without your knowledge then there should be that box underneath the console or dash.

Can't I check with my VIN number or somekind of factory code that's found in the car somewhere?

carfax simply states what came standard and what options were availabe, not necessarily what came with the car.

im 99% positive you would have it. all the loaded gt-s's have the rs3200

again, take your vin to the dealer, they will be able to tell you...and you'll need them for a replacement remote anyway...

Ok I called my dealer they said that it didn't come with it, They also said that when I install it that they have to program it with a toyota scanner. Anyone know if this is true?
