Mini Ipod Problem

Hi, I got my mini ipod hooked up to my Sony Xplod headunit using the Sony Xa-300 adapter. As of right now I can't work my Ipod through my headunit, I can only control the Ipod using the actually Ipod buttons. The sound is perfect. Did I set it up wrong or does it just depend on the headunit I own? My headunit is capable of showing the artisit/title on the screen when I play a cd, but it only said AUX1 on the screen when I play my Ipod. How do I get my headunit to control my ipod?

As far as I know, the XA-300 adapter is only an AUX adapter and not an ipod-only adapter. That's why you can't see the info in your screen and can only control the ipod from the ipod itself.

the only hu's out that i know of with ipod control are alpines, and they dont even work perfectly with mini's

What's a good ipod holder? Or should I just stick to that little mat that keeps everything you put on it from moving. It goes on your dashboard.
