I have about 8k miles on my stock gt-s yokohama tires.
I was having a close look at them and noticed both front tires we're worn down thin, but only the middle strip!
I thought, well if only the middle is worn down, it must be overinflated. Checked the psi, all tires are 30psi which is correct, no?
I race occasionally, maybe once a week at most, I don't think i'm too hard on my tires. I'm going to get them rotated soon.
Is this normal for these tires? My friend has an auto gt-s with about 20k miles and the middle of his yokos are worn down too, but not as bad as mine.

It does seem unusual... BTW, if I am not mistaken, the inflation is 32psi all around, not 30psi.

That is a sign of overinflation... be cautious on the water

My tires are at 30 psi, so actually a tad bit underinflated. So it doesnt make sense that they have overinflation wear.
I believe the manual says they should be at 32 or 33psi.

Deathrow... 33 sounds fine but you may want to put 2-3psi more for wheel protection.
Blastofo... if that is the case then i would take it to a local tire shop and have it inspected.

I just replaced my Yoko's at 14K...same wear problem...lots of wear overall, but especially in the middle...pressures always in the 30-32 psi range.

is your car lowered? If so did you have a wheel alignment done right after it was lowered? If not, the wear can be due to "toe." If your car has excessive toe, then the wear on your tires can be increased exponentially.

No, my car isn't lowered. I guess it's just the way the tires are. The stock yoko's are known for not lasting long...but I didnt expect them to wear unevenly like this.
I went to get the tires rotated. The guy said..yeah because your car has such high torque, it eats the tires up! (high torque? lol)
But the yokos are kind of soft...I was planning on getting parada's for my next set, but now i'm having second thoughts.
Has anyone here used their limited warranty and been able to get a new set of tires because of premature wear?
