only reason i'm asking is because the local tuning shop said that ecu's could learn around piggy backs.

I'm thinking it shouldn't learn around. I haven't seen or noticed any changes since I've had my E-Manage and that's been since March.

The ECU can't detune what it can't control. This is why you need the fuel injector harness to make it work. Also, consider springing for the E-manage Ultimate -- allegedly it can kill the rev limiter; not sure if you can lower lift or not with it.
