one newbie question about oil change

my odo is 1500km now,so tomorrow i'm going to change oil.it's first time. i'm thinking when i should change oil for second and third time... thanks

The neurotic car enthusiast (;)) rule is every 3000mi or 5000km.

And get 5W-30 oil, it's the only weight of oil Toyota recommends.

BUt there the few that prefer to do the very first oil change at 1,000 miles (including my family). It seems like overkill, it removes the metal particles from seating earlier. Then overy 3,000 miles.

Whatever floats your boat. He already said he was getting the early oil change (1500km). His question was specific to how often afterwards.
