If anyone is thinking of getting one of these pls read on.

The manual says they're made for both a sealed and ported enclosure. Do not buy one and put it in a sealed box. I bought 2 a while back ( me and a friend each got one) and we put them in sealed boxes and they sucked ass. I had 2 L7 12's in my wheel well so i just put a new top on that box and cut the new hole for the SOLOX. even with 2400 watts it didn't out do the 2 12's i had just pulled out. I made the box for my friend bigger 4.0 cu/ft for his ext cab truck... ASS again.
We went back and forth with Kicker trying to get our money back because they had told us they would outdo 3 nornal 12's. well they didn't help us and we had them slated to be sold. Just for kicks I talked my friend into getting another piece of wood and doing a ported box. We made it 6 cu/ft and had the proper port. BINGO! 147.7 db with no EQ or anything. just HU and amp.
I swapped mine out for a 10 and put it in that same box( with a port added) and i am getting more that the 2 12's.

Not a bragging post, but if you're concerned with space and like the Kickers go witht he L7s (.88 is the smallest enclosure compared to 3.5 smalled SOLO X ported enclosure) but if you can sacrifice the room and have 1400+ watts and love a loud boom.. get the solo x>>> just make sure to put it in a ported box!

you must have done something wrong cause my friend's running a 18" Solo-X in a sealed box at like 7500rms, sounds fine, before that he had 2 of the 12" ones. Sounded fine again. Gave you a headache if you listened to it. Also you have to remember that our trunks are not the best for SPL unless worked on

I didn't do anything wrong I am just saying that Kicker told us that they would out do 3 regular 12 ( each), but didn't. And yeah 2 12's or 1 18 is going to knock. I just know it's night and day from the sealed box tot eh ported one.

FLUECELICA- What impedence subs do you have and what model punch? I have dual 4's ( and a set of dual 2's) running off an Autotek MX5000. Giving each of mine 750 and they hit pretty damn hard. It just depends on how the box is made, the internal size, the amp power, and if there are any EQs processors helping it.
