so i had 2 JL 12" w3 v2.... but i got a friend who has 2 12" W6's and wants to trade me straight up... i have 1 500/1 JL amp pushing my W'3's.... im getting another 500/1 for 225 bucks... and will 500watts be too much for one of my w6's???? i will be having 2 500/1 jl amps pushing 2 jl 12" w6

I dunno man, look for a "max power" rating on the box the speaker came in.

that might be a bit too much for 12W6's, but if they're 12W6V2's then it's a perfect setup. If it's just regular W6's, I would just use one 500/1.

damn.....that'll be overkill for a celica. i was running 2 12w6v2 with 1 500/1 n it was still overkill. too much bass on a small hatchback is a bad thing. u should stick with ur 12w3v2. i bet those sound clean.

i run 1 jl 12 w6 with a 250w amp... sounds clean and clear and it can be overkill if you dont set your amp right... thats how you get the clean sound, setting the gain and low pass and such right. i did a bass test with it one time and it def. is more than enough for anything you want to listen to unless you're trying to go competition. :crazy2:
