heres the story. theres redline mt90 in the tranny i added maybe 8000 miles ago. b&m shifter about atleast a 1000 miles ago. now for some reason, the shifter feels rougher. its not annoying, but why would it happen suddenly? the car was warm, i drove it for hours and its still rough.
by saying rough, i mean like emergeny break that u just tightened the cable. the shift feels maybe just a bit more precise, i can defintely can tell the shift at 4 got a little harder to get in. it cant be synchros cz i wasnt even shifting hard at that moment at all.
anyways, lemme hear ur opinions. and plus i remember when i pumped the tranny fluid in there a while ago, i couldnt fit as much as it says in this sites install page.

Might need to grease your shifter linkage.
Hey stefanoc, I have been having the same sort of troubles.
Like said above, and you probably already know, grease up the linkage and also the shifter.
I have been spraying on the white lithium for the shift linkage and to me it's crap. It will losten it up for only so long before my next spray or driving in any heavy rain (no underpanels).
I'm thinking on taking the next Saturday to clean and take apart anything I can including the shift link bushings, clean it all real good, and apply a heafty dose of something more durable than a spray on white lithum grease.
I'm sure you greased up the shifter with white lithium grease all over it, but you might want to do it again. I never used white lithium on my shifter.
I used a super high temp. clear bearing grease that's super slick and coats well.
The problem with the lithium grease is when it gets hot it cakes. The shift linkage gets hot and the grease cakes. I can see it caked on there.
I'm reaching a bit here but good luck none the less.

You need a non-lithium based grease or it will not stand up to the elements very well.
Kind of like the lube that comes with Hotchkis' swaybars.
You woud'nt be talking about some red synthetic grease:
"Red Line Synthetic CV-2 Grease possesses a very high melting point, excellent water washout resistance and superior antiwear which makes it excellent for high-temperatures and extreme loads. CV-2 contains an organic moly and is for wheel bearings, high-angle and conventional CV-joints, chassis lubrication and high-temperature, high-speed industrial equipment"
I hope not because I have been preaching that kind of stuff for years and everyone is always white lithium this and that.

but the weird thing is, i have a wrist band, u know this blue tsunami ones.
it was on the shifter and my friend was pulling it a bit, it didnt make the gear shift or nothing at al. there was not that much force. and since then, it feels weird.
i can defintely understand the caking or the lithium grease. cz when i applied it, it looked like it would have caked from warmth, and its hot here in cali. but i doubt its the shift linkage cz i know the feeling of it not lubricated and thats not it. oh i also got shift bushings, the one under the hood that replaces the rubber ones.
