Hey all. My car is tuned for 5psi right now. I have an Apex'i AVC-R and I was wondering if (when my clutch breaks in more) will I be able to up my boost from 5psi to 7psi and have the ECU compensate for this, or will it not be able to take it? BTW, it's a Split Second piggy-back ECU.

its only about 20 more Hp about if you boost it up 2... you can boost up to 10psi on a stock clutch im pretty sure... Cuz i did that with my auto i even ran 11psi at the highest moment....
i'm at .5 bar now and hasn't have any problems. ofcourse, the tune I had was to just keep it running safe. My real tuning won't be til I start boosting around 10-12 psi.

I had mine tuned at 8psi which ran close to 13:1, when we up the boost to 10psi (or was it 9?) the A:F went to 12:1 without any tuning. So PowerFC compensated for the increase in boost, however I am not so sure about stock ECU with piggyback...

I'm not on a stock clutch, so that's not really a problem. I just don't want to up it 2 psi if i'm gonna start having problems.
Yeah it may only be 20 or so horse, but that's free power.

Thats because it move to a different cell that most likey was already tunned rich for safety

You could raise up the boost but first check on the splitsecond that it has similar or greater values than the cells before it for safety then tune after raising the boost for the desired a/f

you cant compare Autos with manuals, they are different creatures with different guts.
i wouldnt suggest upping the boost without a wideband O2 to monitor your A/F. you're playing with fire

Okay. I think I'm gonna pass then for now. I'm gonna wait and get a custom exhaust made, then have it retuned for 7 (shouldn't be much extra work).
you can go to you're local dyno shop and do base pulls. I'm sure they have something to monitor your AFR.

Combat is running 7psi with the SS unit. I also have an aftermarket clutch. Everything is fine. I had it tunned to 7psi when the kit was installed. You should be just fine.

Well, see, mine is fully tuned at 5psi, not 7.
