when i first got my 12" jl audio sub and amp, i usually kept my equalizer settings at:

bass -1
mid 2 or 3
treble 2 or 3

lately, in order to have a good clean sound, i have to turn the mids down to -5 no matter what kind of music (rap, rock, etc.) i'm listening to. on some cd's, i think the music would sound better if the mids could be turned down even lower if it were possible. does anyone know if there are any settings on the amp or elsewhere that i could change in order to not have to turn the mids down all the way?

i also have boston 6.5's in the doors but i don't think this would be causing the problem.

thanks for any advice and always remember to rock out with your cock out...

Do you have your sub crossed over? If not then it is probably overpowering the mids of your other speakers making it sound like crap. Does your sub amp have a crossover built in? Most amps do. Also the gain on your sub amp may be too high.
