most people driving an import have rivalries with domestic drivers. not only cuz some of them are assmonkies but they like to diss imports and not keep an open mind when considering import power. people rave about camaros...v8...ss... well some guy said using NOS is CHEATING.... what the hell? what do u guys think, using NOS in a race cheating...? or are they just jealous? why dont domestics shoot up NOS.... probably because the engines cannot take high rpm levels right? NOS is labeled "fake power" and i've heard many times that term... power is power none of it is fake unless its all made up in ur head. drop a line...

First of all -- it's N2O, not N02. Not that I was ever good at chemistry, but still. ;)
Second -- it's cheap power. Way less than a turbo or s/c. Fairly easy to install. It's not cheating -- they are just jealous. :D
Third -- xi KiNG ix is right. :) I can run up to a 150 shot in my truck. That's over 500HP in short bursts. Wow. I don't think I'd ever run N2O though. Just a personal choice.

Is turbo cheating? What about supercharging? How about cams, pistons and what not? How is Nitrous any different?

my friend told me that domestics cannot handle high rpm levels...thats why SOME mustangs redline at like 5-6k rpm instead of like 8k. also i hear that shooting n20 in domestics can blow up the engine easier? also was told that shooting n20 puts approximately 3000 miles on your car everything u push that red button... yikes... at least it doesnt show on the odometer.

Well if you want to compare redlines take mine as an example:
Redlines at 5250, Fuel cutoff at 5400.
The GT-S engine has 3000 more RPM to play with. Does that make it faster or better? Well they're really made differently. You guys have got a small engine with lots of technology to make the most power out of it. Far more advanced than my engine I'd imagine. Doesn't take much to slap a s/c on your tried and true 5.4L V8 and tune it a little. But I think the Celica is tuned pretty high already and because of the size you can't feed it a lot of N2O. I don't think a 1.8L was meant to handle it. Lift is what makes the GT-S so fast and from what I've seen any turbo kit will probably disable the lift. So something has to give.
Domestic V8 will handle more juice, but I'd guess because its a big cast iron V8 than can handle it better. But use too much still and kaboom.

dude, nitrous was INVENTED for domestic drag racers. have you seen their website? they've got more import kits now, but the majority of their stuff is for setting up kits on domestic cars, which can usually handle a bigger shot.

Yeah man, the guys right, it does age your car! Can't you tell in the movie? When he punched the n20 his car rusted so fast that his floorboard popped off!! :D ;)

the only people that consider nitrous cheating are those who are afraid to put it on there car :).. all is fair in racing :)

Um, My brother in law has an trans am with a 150 shot. They can take a way bigger shot than imports. Alot of domestics run nitrous.

I cant understand why it would be cheating. The only people who think like that are from the 60s and 70s who used to run the Camaros and Mustangs with nothing but displacement under the hood. It still adds power to the engine so I dont think its cheating.

It's not cheating. :P I've seen mustangs run 9 flat. Nitrous owns joo

I can understand why people would consider it cheating too. It's all in the fact that it is only used in bursts.
Since the cars that spray nitrous to win a race are incapable of running under thoes conditions for more than a few seconds, it doesn't really give a good example of the actual capabilities of the car.

well think of this way.. your exact example but with turbo.. if you dont really get on it then your exhaust gas's wont build up and spin the turbine faster making boost.. so essentially a turbo is only on when you want it to be as well.. like I said, all is fair when it comes to racing..
