well, just got my flywheel and clutch install a few weeks ago. after the install, i noticed a small screech when i hit a bump in the road, and if i take a corner. it almost sounds like the belts... anyway thats the least of the problems.

after driving around, i've notice that its getting harder and harder to get into gear. at some points im sitting at a stop light and go to put it in first, when it gets half way, grrrrind. if i go to down shift around a slower car, there seem to be a wall there, and then after the revs down to idle, then i can get it in. cant go into lift, cause it i cant go into the next gear... when the toyota dealer install'd the clutch and flywheel, they didnt install the new throw-out-bearing, so i dont know if this has something to do with it...

took it to the dealer that install'd it, talk to the service guy, and he look panic strick'n. i was calm and nice about the problems. so hopefully monday they can fix it, and i hope there isnt damage to the transmission due to grinding gears...
sorry to complain... just ticks me off...

I dont think the throw-out bearing would cause this. When my friend broke the clutch on his neon he had his clutch done at pep boys and the throw out bearing kept breaking, but he didnt have problems with grinding or getting into gear that i can remember, just a loud rattling sound from the clutch.

sound like yur clutch isn't disengaging. a bad throwout bearing would cause that. http://www.howstuffworks.com/clutch2.htm

While there is a very miniscule chance it is the throw out bearing, I would suspect other things.

The first thing I would do is check the clutch fluid, that could be low (it shars the reservoir with the brakes), make sure that is OK. Air in the line (from a leak 0 would cause your symptoms.

make sure all the bolts are tight. If the clutch slave cylinder were loose, that would cause the problem.

it is also possible the clutch master cylinder or slave cylinder is failing. Only after eliminating all those things would I even consider looking inside.

the car is at the shop.

when i got there, the service guy, try's his hand at driving. first he stall's the car, 3-4times... and then tells me the way the transmission is design'd is so you dont push the car, in the 6000rpm and up.... retard. told him straight up, i never had a problem before the install. but he did here the sqeek'n noise. that was good. i even told him to push it, and try to shift. i could tell he was having trouble, but he blew it off.... btw he wouldnt go pass 5k...

then i get a tech, to ride. he heres the sqeek'n noise. i show him how hard it is to get into gear and stuff. he guesses its the hydralic (sp) part of the clutch, and is going to get to the bottom of it. very nice guy, someone i could talk to, without him saying something was built or design'd that way. so hopefully everything goes well, and if not, the sh*t going to hit the fan.

oh is the hydralic(sp) part of the clutch part of the powertrain warrenty? i cant find my book, i think its in the car, at the shop...
