Just had some things I've been trying to search on here for answers to but never managed to find. So I figure I'll just post them all together in one thread for easy reading. :)

1. Is it possible to remove the "JBL" logo from all over my speaker panels? Not only is the orange color not going to work well with all of my future blue-led plans, but I'm replacing my system and I don't want it to say "JBL" on there after I've spent so much on stuff that isn't JBL.

2. Has anyone replaced the stock tweeters with flush mounted aftermarket tweeters? The stock ones have the grill in the door and the tweeter mounted behind it, but I'd like to stick my new ones in the door directly so that I can pivot them for optimal sound aiming. The flush mount for my new ones seems to be larger than the ones that are there, even though I thought the stock ones were 1" as well. Do I need to cut the hole where the tweeter grill is to be larger?

3. I bought some of the speaker adapters to fit 6.5" speakers in the front doors, but my woofer won't fit flush inside. There's about a 1/4" gap that's being caused by the main metal cone piece hitting the inner lip. The screw holes line up so I know I got the right kind. Has anyone ever dremelled these to have a larger hole? Any other ideas to make them fit?

4. Where do most people mount their crossovers in the doors? I will actually have two crossvers for each set of door speakers, but I have no idea where is a good safe place to put them.

5. How do you get speaker wires through the door cabling? I know the usual answer is to tap into the factory-run wires, but I will need to run new wires coming from inside the door out to the A-pillars. From what I've heard it's a real pain in the butt to do, if not impossible, but I'm hoping someone had some luck and can help me out.

Thanks.

Preface: I do not claim to be an audio system guru.
Anything is possible... all it takes is $$

1) I don't know what it would leave behind or how they actually look... not having a later model... but I would think that you might be able to find some substitute badge to replace them with... or fill them in & paint to match?

2) Easy enough to figure out... if your putting pivotals in... just make it work.

3) You can either dremmel the area to make sit flush.. or try spacers to push the speaker forward enough so that it doesn't hit the bracket.

4) Haven't done this.. but ya wanna keep it dry.. & so it won't interfere with the windows. Check out the install @ http://teamcelica.com/tech/installs/speakers/door.html

5) Use a snake...... in this case.. short enough to use a broken coat hanger;-) Just curl over the forward end (blunt it) so that it doesn't pierce or cut into anything.

1. the JBL logo is just a stick-on, you can tear it out and clean up the glue...

2. you can install aftermarket tweeters and take out the stock grill cover. it's just a clip-on, you can even take it out by your finger nails. and for installing aftermarket tweeter mounts, you will need to larger the stock tweeter holes...

3. what kind of bracket did you get? the universal or the one made by scosche?

4. as for Xover, it's probably more logical to mount it within the doors. however, i plan to mount them either in the trunk or most likely under my driverseat like i have done in the paseo...

5. running wires through the doors to the interior of the car takes some times to do. i just cut the insert hole a little larger in the interior side and push it through with a bent hanger. just take your time, it's not that bad at all...

hope that helps and good luck...

3. I found it easier to go diy on the adapter. easier to make alterations. i did have to countersink the screwholes for the speaker but it wasnt troublesome at all really.

4. Xovers i placed under their respective seats also because it was easier to the other alternatives. also if i wanted to adjust them, i wouldnt have to take off any panels. my only problem is im worried that if my car floods tonight, then theyll be the first valuable things to go.

5. You can always pull the grommet aside and just work it alongside the looming.watch out cause its sharp.

good luck guy

2. I pulled the stock grill out of the whole and used a dremel to increase the size of the hole to fit my new tweeters.

4. I mounted my crossovers in the doors. Not behind the panels but toward the back of the door on the inside, there is a pretty large area with a flat surface to work with for mounting. The wires were run between the metal and plastic covering to keep the wires from being damaged.
