Holy crap...I saw some 18 x 8 Advan Super Racing Version II's today on an RX-7......I thought I was gonna fall over.....they looked really good. I didn't even realize unti lI looked closer that they were Advans. He said that they were really hard to get ahold of......is this guy full of BS???? I haven't seen them on any other cars but I'm sure that some of the JDM dealers have access to them

how much are they and what's the wait time? Those look really good! Do the spoke come in any form of black finish? And how wide is that lip?

I hate 3 spoke wheels, but I love those. What's the offset on the 18x8 model? I'm curious if this would fit a Celica.

^^ traditionally I have loathed 3 spokes too... But when I saw those I was like dayyymn! I would consider putting them on my car if they fit. Of course I would have to get the right finish and make sure the lip is good enough for my tastes too
edit: Well, there's one problem solved. Do you know the lip size, price, offset?
Rey_Vibora

18x8 offset is 48/38 and price is $2392 for Silver metalic or gold. $2420 for Red, Blue, or Gunmetal, and $2490 for bright chrome.

I had 18x8 +38 offset before and they sat beautifully. This is the way to go for the Celica.

The standard colors, which are silver metalic and gold are in stock. The other ones will take about 4-6 weeks.

Yes, I still have them. I can handle the typed abuse! Honestly - when you see them it doesn't bring out the normal disdainment for 3 spokes that is usually encountered. Same thing with the Advan's. Both are almost like 6 spoke wheels, and they are so unique that I don't know how you can hate them.
I want to put them on when the car is done. Key: when the car is done.

I'm glad to hear that and I can't wait to see them on your car. But, I guess I'll have to wait a long time to see that, huh? :gap:
I think I like them (and the Advan's) so much because they're split 3 spoke, which gives the appearance of 6 spokes, like you said.

Shouldn't be too long. I had to source a last engine piece from JP this weekend. Parts dealer here had it on backorder for 2 weeks with no ETA. I said screw it, cancelled the pieces, and had them shipped directly from JP. Anyway, they were the last things needed so that the top and bottom half of my engine can be joined once again. After that, it's shipping the engine back up to Northern California, dropping it in the car with the turbo, and then finishing up some last bits on the exteriour before the photoshoots.
However, I worked out a deal with Volk for the LE28's in gunmetal. This is, because, sadly, although the Trial Zelda's are made by Rays, they are not forged and are heavy. I wanted a forged wheel, lightweight, for performance. Talked with my marketing manager, who knows Volk, and they provided the hook-up. The wheels will be sent to me when I get my car back (Volk likes to know that I have a car I'm putting them on...not just taking their wheels and selling them or something to make 100% profit).
So for photoshoots, I don't know what I'll use. The LE28's are lightweight and look quite nice. But the Zelda's are ultra-rare and also look quite nice.
I agree with you...it's all about the 3 spoke splits. Not like those 3 spokes that came on the Ford Probe.

Hey don't be knocking the Ford Probe!!! I just had one as my daily driver this summer while my car was down...lol!!! What a piece of crap! It idles at like 3500rpm :gap:. Thats why I just got an 05 Corolla S...I realise that my Celica has turned into a shop/driveway queen and that it will spend more time there then on the road. I finally got it all running right (I think..it starts and idles good) but I'm too scared to drive it because I'm worried something will go wrong! Oh well...enough rambling; just had to stick up for the probe even though it doesn't even have the 3 spoke wheels. :chuckles:

Awesome, glad to hear there's not much left to do before it's finished.
Yeah, that's a hard choice. Both are gorgeous wheels. I think I would do the photshoots with the Zelda's, just for the fact that they're more rare than the Volks. Either way you can't go wrong. However, I expect to see pics with both sets of wheels at some point. :)
Yea, it was definitely an option on the Ford Probe, there's a few in my area with the 3-spoke wheels. Yuck. And there's an SUV with them too, Infinti/Nissan makes it if I'm not mistaken.

Yeah, but it won't look the same on every car, that's why I asked. Wheel width and offset determine how big a lip can be, and how curved the spokes are. ;)

I'd say because of the offset but the ones on ebay do look a bit different. The ones on ebay have bolts all the way around, I don't see that on the original pics.

The Celica can't mount a deep dish rim without going widebody. All the pics above have nicely curved spokes and big lips because the wheels are wider and the offset is lower. I haven't seen a stock body Celica pull off a wheel wider than 18x8.5 (+44 offset), and even that is cutting it damn close.

18x8 18x8 offset is 48/38 and price is $2392 for Silver metalic or gold. $2420 for Red, Blue, or Gunmetal, and $2490 for bright chrome.
so if we were to get the 18x8, offset 48/38, there wouldn't be a deep lip either? or would it look like the ones on ebay?

10-25-2005, 10:44 PM
18x8 +48, would offer curvier spokes when compared to +38. But I don't think +48 will fit on our car without some rubbing.
