THAT was a helluva meet!!!!!

I don't even think the weather had a chance at spoiling this one! Import Xpressions did a GREAT job putting on this meet & what great support from the DCM members! There didn't seem to be any shortage of food, even though the crowd was quite large.
Does anybody know how many cars showed up for this one? I was impressed with how everything went down without any confrontations or trouble! (Usually you can expect someone to get outta hand in a crowd that large). I think the cops were even expecting something to happen, and when nothing did they had to resort to nit-pickin' peoples' cars at the exit gate!
Did anyone have any trouble at the gate?
I had a great time and everybody's Celicas looked great! Thanks for gettin' me the decals Eric.
Liz was her usual hottiness(even in ponytails) but I was looking forward to the Catholic school uniform!

Yup yup, the meet was awesome and there was really no trouble except at the end.(People thinking they are in the WRC and spinning out all crazy :mad:) All in all it was great! Also thanks for the decal as well. Peace. :)

So what all happened at the end? I left around 4pm and passed about 5-6 cops on the way out by the time I got to the main road. There were 3 cars that had been pulled over. 2 right at the exit gate and one at the end of the road at the top of the hill. Not sure why they were hassleing though.

About the coppers. I am a member of Pontiac Oakland Club International (POCI) and J-body. We have national conventions every year in both clubs and we NEVER have cop harrassment problems. The reason POCI never has cop harassment problems is because about 95% of the members are old geezers driving classics and antiques. There are only a few people in the club under 35 such as myself that are into compacts. So the cops don't bother old geezers as much as they do younger people. Solution? Get more old geezers involved. My old man turns 60 this year and he is into hopping up compacts. His last car was a slightly modded 87 CRX Si 5-speed and his current ride is a modded 00 Escort ZX-2 5 speed. AND THE OLD GEEZER FREAKING STREET RACES!!! He has told me about 2 totally illegal stoplight drag races that he was in this year!!! Now, in J-body the average age of memebers is 19. When we go to our national convention in Ohio every year we have 2 car shows, 2 drag races and a POLICE ESCORT TO THE FACTORY TOUR! That's right. 200+ J-cars with a flashing lights police escort. Instead of police harassing us about light bulbs they are actually protecting us. They use to harass us up there but the club threatened to not hold the convention in the one horse town (Lordstown) any more and the factory (GM) jumped on their ass as well. When they saw the potential loss of revenue and regional news coverage, a deal was worked out between GM, J-body, Lordstown government, and the pole-ice. We don't go around spining tires and illegal drag racing and the police look the other way when it comes to loud exhaust, clear corners, etc. So far no probs at the last two conventions. Solution? Show the county gov that they are loosing money by harassing a growing croud of elligable voters. They keep harassing, we take our meet and money to private property instead.

By the way, in Virginia, law enforcement can NOT enforce the traffic codes on private property unless they are given permission by the land owner/landlord. It is like this in most states and one of the reasons why POCI and J-body hold their meets/conventions on private property. Always ask and receive permission before holding a meet on private property! Lake Fairfax is government property and hense the problems.

I don't know about that but i like driving them both just wish i could get the parts to finish my fuel system on the 2.

i was really upset that i had to miss this meet. i was so looking forward to it too. My bodykit is on the final stages, so it is going to be done sometime this week just in time for the balitmore convention center show this weekend. Hopefully you guys can come and cheer junkyard and I on. I will definatly be at the next big meet!

I had a good time also. I was really surprised to see as many celica's as I did. But, the overall turnout was great with all the other cars supra's, rsx's, eclipse's, mr2's, etc. I really hope we can do it again sometime. I didn't meet everybody this time. But, hope that I get to the next time. Till then.... Pe a cE & be safe on the roads everybody.

Yep... I had lots of fun too. All the people I talked to were nice and friendly. Yeah, it sucked that you guys had to leave early. :(

But I'm definitely excited about the next meet. PKD here we come!!! haha!!! Jake you need to look into getting us a discount rate. And let the Camry and MR2 folks know too!! :D
