I own a 2000 celica GT-S. It is getting 19 mpg (mostly in town driving). Is this acceptable or should I performe tune up? The car got better gas mileage in the past. A few months ago I had a ck engine light (VVTI not engaging). The toyota place could not find a problem and cleared the light. The light has not come back on since then.

man, you seriously should get that checked out. People are getting double the gas milage you have.

Try running some Seafoam through everything. People have picked up a few MPG with just that, but I doubt it will fully cure your problem. There's definitely something wrong (maybe the dealership put electrical tape over the CEL LED :chuckles: ).
