Sports thermostat that reduces the coolant temperature of high-performance engines to maximize performance.
By reducing the valve temperature by about 10 to 15ーC compared with that of a standard thermostat, the TRD sports thermostat increases coolant circulation and reduces performance bottlenecks caused by engine heat, to bring out the best in engine performance. (Maintains valve temperature of 71ーC.)

just got around to installing mine and after driving to work today, all i can say is wow.
usually my temp is ~87 going to 94 when sitting at lights. today it was at ~76 getting up to 84 when sitting. usually the pointer on the stock temp gauge gets to where the gas gauge meets the temp gauge, but now the pointer sits right above the "F".
not mine pic, but for example. its a little above where the pointer is in this pic:

a boosted must have.
