Is there a way to disable the auto-on headlights, with out deactivating the DRL's. I just need to be able to turn my lights off sometimes at night. Thanx

Go to the installs section of this website and then click on Misc and you will find it in that area.

Stick you hand way up underneath the dash and unplug the photosensor (the round thing near the windshield on the driver's side). The only problem with this is when you turn your headlights on, you won't be able to turn them back off unless you turn off the car.

I already thought of that, but I need to turn my lights off while I am driving, in case I pull over and need to turn them off with the car on. If anyone knows if this is possible, let me know, because I guess I will have to get rid of the DRL's, which I really dont want to do.

why you want your DRL's so bad? Just turn your headlights on in the day time if your so worried about it.

All he wants to know is HOW TO DISABLE THE "AUTO- ON" function for the headlights...

I've been trying to figure this out for a while too.....damn!!

As far as I can tell, you can't do it. The DRLs and autoons work together. As someone else mentioned, playing with the sensor is a yes or no thing.......no switching back and forth.

I'd recommend letting the DRLs go unless you wanna do some serious electrical scematic studying.

CloneGTS, I know that you have the install for this. Can you just tell me how to get in the body ecu with an Automatic. Or is it the same, I have never taken the dash apart, and am unsure of this.

You should be able to get the center console around the shifter out pretty easily. I honestly don't know how you would do it, but I'm sure it involves removing the shifter and then pulling up on the shroud that goes down and around the window switches, just like on the manuals.

You'll have to ask someone with an auto to find out for sure.

Just dissable your DRL and Auto on feature like the instructions say, then hook a switch up to the wire you cut... when you get in your car, turn the switch on...when it get night out, turn the switch off, throw your car in neutral, quickly turn your key one click down so that your car turns off and then turn it one click up so that your car turns back on very fast like. every time you do that, you reset that switch so that you can have full power over your DRL's AND Auto-On. Its very easy to do, and is a sh!t load safer then fukin with the computer or pulling any sensor wires and what not...process can easily be reversed to stock without a problem. Have fun

Or you could just be a big boy and turn the lights on when you want them on.... ;)

I guess you didn't read the post very good then did you. I told him how to get to the instructions for auto-on disable but he wants to know how to disable his auto-on without disabling his DRL's. Damn, I guess you probably already knew that though right. :whogives:
