ok, my friend bought a new JVC amp not long ago. it has been working fine until recently.. here is the story:

one day, the fuse on the power line blows.. no big deal, he replaces it.

now, the power cycles on and off to the amp. like a perfect cycle, not something like 2 wires randomly shorting out. all fuses are fine (one on power line and 2 in amp) but the power will just fade on and off...

anyone have any idea what is causing this? it's a Jeep Wrangler btw...

I would put a voltmeter on the power cable and see if the power is fluctuating to start off with, same for the remote turn on lead. If neither fluctuates then I would say something is wrong with the amp.

yeah, the Jeep has a voltmeter and it isn't fluctuating, but I didn't think about putting one in between the remote and power lines as well.. good idea.

remote lead sounds like a good place to start if the power line is ok.
If not that, maybe some kind of voltage problem with your alternator?
