With all this insurance talk, i have started a new thread.
I have bought my car with my mum as joint owners. My insurance is also joint owners so I have 60%NCB. Premium is around $1350 + $400 excess + $400 age access.

another way to reduce your insurance bill is to take out all your insurance with the one company......eg. home and contents insurance with car insurance.....you then get a discount on the total premium bill.....they call this multi policy discounts....ask your insurance company about it.

yeah, they have no problem as long as the mod is legal i think. they havent said anything yet, and as long as I have receipts they are happy.

Hey boi,

I'm with NRMA - I know they are not the cheapest, but they are supposed to be easiest to deal with.

It is costing me $1,545 this year to insure my stock 2000 Model ZR. First year was $1,100, second was about $1,800 (yeah, I know - wtf?!?!?) and this year back down to $1,545.

I am 28, have 60% NCB and no accident or claim history.

I know AAMI is A LOT cheaper, but I just don't trust them.

Hi all,

Like i said earlier, the car is under two owners. I am with the NRMA. My car has no mods and I am 24yo and I got the 60%NCB.

I have dealt with NRMA before with my old car. I claimed once on stereo theft and once on an accident (someelses fault). Both times I had no trouble whatsoever. The repairer I chose happened to be NRMA approved. They inspected the car on NRMA's behalf, emailed photos of the damages to NRMA, and repaired the car in less than 5 days from memory.

The premiums differ sometimes for the quotes. I once rang NRMA twice on the same day and got two different prices (wtf). Maybe when shopping around you can mention something like you looking for a new insurer and they might give you a better price.

But the bigger insurance co.s definately are stricter on mods. Guess u gotta decide what u gonna do to yr car b4 buying insurance.
