To make a very long info short....

Are you going to be making this as a pure cf splitter or an overlay?

If overlay...
I would cut a thick enough piece of aluminum to the shape of the splitter. Prep the aluminum and lay over the cf. Spray the aluminum a black color before so that you won't be able to see the silver between the weaves. Or you can just lay on a couple layers of cf til you are satisfied.

If pure cf....
Like before cut the shape from some kind of material. Use that as your plug and make a mold from it. From there you can make your pure cf splitter. Probably 2-3 layers is good enough but if you really want you can go 5-7 layers.

As for the resin. I found that surfboard resin works the best since it dries clear. I don't vaccum infuse so it might be different.

Read up on fiberglast site. Has quite a bit info although it sometimes takes forever to get a response on their forum. It depends too on how much experience you have with cf and such. I've been working at cf for about 5 months now and only now have i got decent info to make things. Not the best but good enough that you can't tell unless you put your face right up to it.

thanks for the info..it plan to just do an overlay. I was thinking of fiberglassing and then covering..but i guess it might not be strong enough and crack over time.

if this works and tunrs out well u may want to think about making some for sale on here. btw were did u get ur cloth. Most sites that sell it are limiting purchases and raising costs (whole big company buying it all up thing ;) ) I foudn that site does have allot of good info on what you need to use. I woudl also consult fibercation.com as well at kenny on here to see what they think. esp about the resin epoxy stuff so u get a nice shine and it wont yellow or fade

you could do fiberglass too. Just make sure you make it strong enough

this would be the easiest way and probably cheapest if you haven't already done cf work well
