System is no longer installed but i just forgot to share that last year i blew out my back window playing the tunes too high...
the celica is a great car to pump out 2 15' 500Watt MTX Thunders in a sealed box....
Thing is i only had a Lansar Vibe 440 pumping the speakers, only 220 watts going to each of the speaker (less than half of what they could take), and i had a 1F capacitor. That makes our hatch window sound like a piece of sh*t. But i got a good deal from TAP recycling on the back window, cost only few hundred $$ to replace..
Anyone else have any problems like this?

man if you can blow out a back window with those frequencies, imagine what it's doing to your ears and brain...

well it did take about a years worth of playing the system to blow the back window out, when i did blow it out i was driving down the road where people usually chill with their phat car... and just goes to show you what showing off does... i swear.. everyting you show off.. you always end up getting worse off... i had the same problem when i was driving home from a party... had a cute girl in my car... she wanted me to drive fast.... and i flew past a cop doing 135 (not radared luckly) and a got a big ass ticket.. .
people dont show off unless its legal ( or maybe its my bad luck? )

Got pix? Until then I'm gonna call :bs: 2 - 15's? No way in hell they would produce the SPL to shatter a window like that. I've seen 6 - 15" speakers at (full volume) in a crappy old Civic hatchback, and it didn't even come close to breaking anything except our eardrums. A buddy of mine used to own a stereo shop and he had 8 - 18's in the bed of his truck with a camper top over it...and that camper top glass is really thin, too. never even came close to breaking.

Well I blew the back window out of my first car when I was 16 (I'm 25 now). It was an old rusted out 1980 Mustang. I had 2 Orion XTR DVC 10" and I remember I was listening to Snow - Informer... hehe But anyways on my way to highschool listening to it at full volume I heard the loudest noise I've ever heard. Looked in my rear view mirror and the rear glass was shattered completely into pieces but remained intact. I guess there is some sort of film that holds the glass together. I came out at lunch time from school and it had all caved in though. I was vacuuming pieces of glass out of that car for the next year until I finally sold the POS.

I often worry about this too. My rear window shakes like a MoFo on high volume...so far, so good though (***furiously knocks on wood***)

man listen guys, it doesnt really matter how many woofers you got, 2 or 10. Also, wattage doesnt matter 100%, its all in the box. If you have a 1000 watt speaker and a 1000 watt amp and a bad box (too small usually) it doesnt matter. If you research your sub and make the correct box for it, and right volume, you could have a crappy radio shack sub and garage sale 100 watt amp and hit so hard you wouldnt believe it. Trust me, I know my stuff. Also, you got to think about the frequency. Ever seen those opera singers breaking drinking glasses with water in them one by one? Its the same thing, its not that anyone's system was louder or hits harder cus he got more subs or more wattage, you got to think about the frequencies too.
