drl / auto-on wire

has anyone tried putting a switch to pin#17 on the b6 connector to turn on and off the drl/auto-on mechanism? does anyone know the gauge wire for pin#17? what fuse would be needed for such a switch?

I'd guess its a 16 gauge wire.

Someone told me about putting the switch in. It only allows you to disable the DRL/auto-on while the car is on. If it is already off, it will not turn them back on. YOu have to restart the car to do that.

There is a switch already. when you cut the wire you use your headlight switch. unless you want DRL other then that what do you want to switch on??? i cut mine awhile back and it took me about 10 mins cause i put ends on the wires incase i would need to connect it for any reason.

People would like to put a switch in where you cut the wire so that you can toggle the auto on headlights I believe. Which doesn't make a lot of sense to me because either you have to flip the switch to turn the auto-on back on....or you can just flip the main headlight switch.
