If you were to build the GT-S engine to handle a lot of boost do you think it could run 12's even 11's well tuned. Coudn't you throw a 50 to 70 shot to speed things up?

Good Question dan ! i was wanting to know the same thing.. because if i spend a lot of cash on NOS and here comes the Blitz to Down i wanna be able to use both

yes.. first off I dont think it will take alot of boost to run 12s.. I think on a 50 shot I could have hit 12s with alot of practice and traction..

11s on the other hand is more of a traction thing then anything else with FWD.. slicks would most likely be necesary..

The problem with the blitz SC is that its roots based. A roots SC is ineffecient at high boost levels (say above 8psi). Its best suited to lightly boosting a high compression engine. Like a GT-S with a slightly lowered 11:1 CR running about 8 psi of intercooled boost.

If you're looking for more then 8psi of boost, I wouldn't go with the blitz setup and look more at a twin-screw based SC or a turbo. Centrafugals are not really a good choice for high revving small displacement engines like the 2zz either. The 2zz doesn't create a lot of torque on its own and a centrafugal isn't going to make it. A centrafugal blown engine produce staggering peak HP numbers, but peak HP isn't where a street race/quater mile is won or lost.

I want a turbo. It's that simple. Low cube high revving engines want a turbo.

Or use the rotrex like mine, its basically a turbo but driven of the drive belts, it even uses turbo vanes and therefore can also become a hybrid if required.

IMO for the blitz s/c to function the best you would have to lower the compression maybe to 10.5 and change the valves, springs, and retainers to get maximum results...but thats for the supercharger...since its a constant hp throughout the powerband, you dont have to worry about being dogg slow from lowering your compression by 1point.

A rotrex is a centrafugal... I do hear that rotrex is working on a CVT drive system. This would aruably be even better then a turbo as you'd get instant boost (no lag, like a SC) and be able to control the boost level just like a turbo.

Not really, like I said this is a small eaton unit. Its not going to produce a lot of boost. If you dropped your compression down 1 point you'd want to run about 8 more psi. The eaton is terrible above about 8psi. They really should of bit the (price) bullet and put a twin screw/autorotor on there and shipped the kit with a thicker copper head gasket.
