Well this morning i was at 610 and 59 going to work, when my cell phone rings and its my wife. Well she tells me that she was just in an accident in the celica. So i get all worried and flip under the freeway and head back to her. I made it from 610 and 59 to 1960(about 20 miles) in 10 minutes. I found out that the spec-v can do at least an indicated 130mph.

Well i pull up to the sceen and all i see is the celica's hood buckled up and the bumper all mashed(headlight not broken and dont know how). What happened was some dumb lady in a green sentra jammed on her brakes in front of the lady my wife hit(the lady lost her makeup and jammed on the brakes) so the lady that my wife hit hit her brakes and stopped my wife hit hers and they locked and she slid right into the 90 mustang. The mustang in turn bumped into the lady that caused it all. The lady in the sentra just took off like nothing happened. Well the lady my wife hit was real nice and so was her husband. We went to breakfast before the body shop opened up.

After breakfast we went to Tejas Toyotas Body Shop and they estimated my wifes damage at, at least 1500 dollars(dont know if there is any underlying damage) and the mustangs at 500(for a bumper). So now we are just waiting for the insurance adjusted to look at it all.

Well than this afternoon we were taking the celica back to the body shop to drop it off, when some guy hit My brand new Spec-v in the rear bumper. my wife got out(since i wanted to drive the celica to see if it made any noises which it didnt) and than i got out and went over to my wife and said i give up. So we get his insurance information and go on our way. We pull into Tejas and get a quote for my car and its about 500 bucks to sand and repaint my bumper.

What a crappy way to start the week. The only good thing that happened today was my disneyland tickets came in for our vacation.

Well thats my rant.

P.S why cant women wake up early enough like my wife to put on their damn makeup??

Hey, It could be worse, (Not that I have no sympathy for you)

I had my Celica wrecked by my at the time EX who was driving it because I couldn't. Recent surgery had rendered me unable to drive a manual since my left leg wasn't strong enough. She got hit at an intersection by an old Cavalier Wagon and caused 8000 dollars in damage. And of course my car was 3 weeks old. The body shop told me that they could not asses complete damage until they took the car apart. I would make sure that they tell the Insurance company that. My initial estimate was 5000 dolllars, but adjustable.

Sorry for the nasty luck =(

**Mr. Accident Investigator Steps In**

The person in the back will receive a citation for following to close to avoid a collision.

The person in the front, sence she admitted carless driving, will be cited for Carless Driving which actually started the whole thing.

Also your very luck the lady in the middle didnt sue both the front and the rear cars...

Noone got ticketed and noone sueing anyone. the person that caused it all left and never stopped. and my wife wasnt following to close she just locked her brakes and slid. if they didnt lock she wouldve stopped in time.

As I said, if she was following a little bit farther back, she wouldnt have had to slam on the breaks as hard causing the tires to lock and running into somone....Basicly If you run into the back of somone, its always your fault...IE if a Piano fell out of the sky and landed in front a car so that car had to stop, and the person behind that car ran into them, then the person that ran into them is 100% at fault...sorry.

like i said before we know it was her fault. We never denied that but my wife didnt get ticketed and neither did the other driver.

The adjuster called last night and said that they will cover everything

RedNOSCeli is right, consider yourself lucky your wife didn't get a ticket. NO MATTER WHAT, if you rear end someone, it's your fault. It doesn't matter if you lock up the brakes. The driver you hit may get a ticket too, but since you hit them from behind, it's your fault too. Laws always state that the driver behind must maintain a safe and adequate distance in which to stop. Anything else is taillgating. Younger women (16-35) seem to be much worse at taillgating probably because they don't understand that there is reaction time before you start applying the brakes.

Dave

i already stated that i know we got lucky for her not getting a ticket. How many times do i have to say that we know it was her fault???

Today we got word that the total is up to around 3k for damage and the car is already in paint and we shoudl have it back early next week.
